I apologize if this is a n00b question, but when making helmets, what are some typical materials that people us to custom make the glass parts (the lens/visor/etc.)? I'm in the middle of a T-51b power armor helmet build and want to find something to cover the eyes with. Thanks!

You can use just about anything. Clear plastic can always be tinted (either with a spray or window tint film). You can also get cheap ski goggles on eBay or from a thrift store. Just be sure to measure.

I like using a 2 or 3 liter soda bottle with window tint for a cheap visor.

You can also order a "chrome no face mask" from Amazon for fairly cheap. And if just for a small visor, you can cut it up for multiple uses.

Pro costume builders also use sheets of thin PETG plastic and vacuum form the the correct shape, but don't know how involved you want to get.
