Master Replicas 2007 Product Preview

I'm still fine with the symettrical/ideal helmets. :)

But, I'm not holding my breathe for any of them after waiting for a clone bucket.

I don't mind if they make them symmetrical, but can't they also offer the asymmetrical version? And how about a Boushh helmet?. This awesome helmet almost always gets overlooked.

Screen accuracy is key for me. If it's not screen accurate I won't be buying the Stormie bucket. That simple.

Although I can see people wanting a symmetrical one that looks industrial. It's supposed to be Master

Replicas, not Master Symmetricas.

Any chance someone can post a simple image explaining how the Stormy helmet is asymetrical? It's one of those things I never noticed, and I always feel like I'm missing a big part of the discussion never having noticed before.

Interesting comparison, StarWars Collector.

I've taken the liberty of putting the four shots together in a single image. I hope you don't mind my using your shots like this. :)

Thanks, Pilot, for hosting. :thumbsup

That's a pretty sweet helmet there to use for a comparison. :p

You're welcome. :p

@Temponaut: No problem. :thumbsup

Nice comparisons SWC

IIRC the MR people said that the helmet wasnt going to be "symmetrical", just less asymmetrical than the original ones.

I suppose we'll have to wait and see....

GIVE...ME...A...KI...ADI...MUNDI....

(Sounds like south seas brothel talk, now that I re-read the post, but you get my point MR.)

maybe they could offer a left side and a right...

mirrored and unmirrored... :lol

i just think that when you make em symetrical, they lose there character.

when you watch ROTS vader just doesnt look right. because he is symetrical.... i would and do want to see how they handle it... it could be cool. a perfect version of what the original artist (whoever the hell he was :p ) was going for, but due to human error... was a bit wonky.

so it COULD be cool.

but for me.

i like the stuff that came from the real deal. ;)

Gino, since im never going to have the money to spend, would you take a soul in trade for one of your hero buckets you showed the pic of in front of the tree? :cry

I'm very interested in the studio scale tie and red 5 x-wing.

I'm sad to see that the boba fett lid isnt on the list yet :(.

Well, the examples above, however much I think the second one actually looks good, it is still "one side mirrored symmetrical" and not the way MR is going to make their "symmetrical" helmets.

I have a funny feeling they're not talking about the Vader TIE fighter... :angry

I wonder what the excuse is going to be this time?

It was stated this was only a partial list, I'm sure it is still in the works.

I know lots of you guys want a prop replica to be exactly the way the movie prop was vs. what the actual in universe item would be. I just wonder though whether Lucas intended the helmets to be asymmetrical or if that was a result of the vacuuforming and construction. If it wasn't how they were supposed to be I would vote symmetrical. I fall in the "in universe" crowd though. :)

Well, since the helmets were sculpted and not machined back then it couldn't have been made symmetrical, no matter how much they'd have tried - so it was certainly not intentional, but simply what was possible at the time.
