I am evaluating the possibility of creating a Master Blaster costume to wear for next year's www.smallvillecomiccon.com, June 20-21, 2015.
There are not a lot of reference photographs available online and the images I have been able to obtain are not always clear. There is a good model out there but there are some subtle differences between its sculpt and the images I do have. I do not believe I am in a position to create a completely screen accurate version, but I want to make a good effort. I am reaching out to this community with the hopes someone has better photographs and help with the identification of various components.
For Blaster I need help beyond the vintage hockey glove and catcher's knee pads / shin guards. I especially would like to identify the torso medallion and find better images for recreating it.
For Master I have a couple good photographs of the saddle back frame worn by Blaster, but I have none of the costume worn by 2' 11" actor Angelo Rossitto.
I am also concerned with leather and would like some ideas for alternative fabrics which breath very well, yet still look awesome. My body normally runs on the hot side and being leather clad during June in Kansas is a recipe for disaster.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
