Just finished playing Mass Effect 2 and really wante to do my next costume from one of the characters. one of my favourite characters was legion "tali come first :) " and thought that would make a GREAT cosplay, so this is going to be my next project when i have the time to start it in the holidays

this costume is going to take alot of work with the pipes blue LED lights and the body suit itself but im determined to take the attention away from my friends costume this time :D

to give you an idea of what im up against

I'd love to see this done, but I'm not so sure you could fit a person in there and keep the proportions correct. Then there's that gaping hole in his chest...

Yeah you might be able to "simulate" a sort of sunken "hole" depending on the chestpiece... Interested to see how this turns out!

proportion wise, the entire head/neck piece will probably be one unit - maybe you can put a servo in there or something to change the lens aperture size? Also, based on the angulation of the legs, I'm thinking some kind of stilts or prosthetic - kinda like for the werewolves in Underworld?

yeah it is a concern but im trying to think os soloutions to them, thought maybe a slanted mirror covered in wires to give the illusion of it beeing a hole and maybe the whole stilt idea they use for werewolfes, we will see :)

It's Do-able.
Gaping Hole costume, sure winner for Halloween 2009 | DVICE

As for the proportions, you'll need stilts, and I'm picturing the wearer's head in the neck of the costume, like with the Alien Xenomorph costumes. Probably uo'll need arm extenders too.

I'd make the whole top layer using glued together foam, as has been used for so many costumes lately, and then I'd go over the while thing with Plasti Dip to get that smooth-yet-flexible look.

Get some full loom tubing for the pipes, paint liberally, and add lighting.

(I wanted to do this myself a few times)

oh nice thanks for the advice and that link thats helped me out a load, this costume with all its light is going to be a major power drain, youl have to plug me into the wall :D ill figure somthing out

This would be cool to see done if you were small enough to fit in it. I think it'd need someone like Doug Jones (Hellboy) to fit in it though.

Legion is so cute. Hot, even. Any who deny are demented freaks.

You'd need to be a real skeleton to pull this off. Might be easier to do one of the geth primes, they're meatier, which would allow the legs to encumber a regular person's legs entirely. Primes also don't have gaping holes in their torsos.

Not my idea but it has been suggested to do this as a puppet similar to the few General Grievious (sp?) running around out there.

Thanks guy for helpping me out its really helping me out :) ive found a few material that im thinking of using
for the metal pipe i was gopin to use shower head pipes there really cheap to buy
stock-photo-chromeplated-shower-pipe-25734904.jpg

feberotics for the burst wires in the chest
fiber_optic_cable.jpg

and also led light tubes for the hole in the chest aswell,

still thinking of using a kind of camer shutter for his eye but not sure yet

You could probably fabricate a faux shutter rig easier and cheaper than adapting one big (and probably expensive) real camera lens.

Id love to see a good Legion costume done..so watching this with interest.

One concern with using stilts is legion isnt much taller than the rest of the characters in the game. Id go for padding to over-emphasise areas of the leg. Got this idea from watching the making of Splice. The in game model of Legion, his legs dont look like they have as exaggerated 'chicken' legs that the drawing does.

thanks for the tips :) yeah i see what you mean about the legs, the plan so far is to buy a full body wet suit and use foam the build up layers on that and then build the "armor" to wear seperatly ontop...thats the plan any way :)

been a long time since i started this thread but now that i have the time to actualy start the costume and my material should be here soon pictures will begin to pop up as i tackle this project :)

Hey, I was thinking of creating my own Legion costume and found this forum over google. By the way what sort of light are you using for his eye?
