Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Well, I didn't see that trick with Fitz and Simmons coming, but once it happened it all fit together perfectly. People really need to stop underestimating them.

Awesome episode. Regarding the prior conversation, though... she has a mole? I never noticed it. Too busy paying attention to the show itself.

I don't know. Maybe they were lying to SHIELD about her being killed to get to Skye? I'm not sure yet whether that group is full of bad guys or they just want to be alone and not have anyone bother them. The one guy made a slightly ominous statement like "Everyone will know us soon" or something like that.

Lots of surprises in this good episode.

That was really cool to see Mike return, and it was done in a cool way, too.

When Coulson said that he had backup on the way, I figured it was Melinda May, and that we just had not seen her break out yet. Then when he said it was one person, I KNEW it was her, but thought that we really really should have seen her break out by now. Obviously wrong! Nice surprise seeing Mike there, didn't expect that at all. I liked the way they did the reveal, too.

When Skye's Mom and Gordon visited Cal, the room (and his behavior) looked like Cal had been making some efforts at self-control, presumably with the long game (see Skye) in mind.

If I was with Coulson's SHIELD, I wouldn't trust Mac or Bobbie, forget them. But, I'm not with Coulson's or the other SHIELD, and I will just return yet again to my same old desk tomorrow, looking forward to the next episode...

Cal at one point said, "So it worked" when Skye mom appears. Anyone else think that by killing Whitehall, Skye's mom came 'back to life'?

Nope. I just think that her regeneration is on-par or even better than Deadpool's. As for his comment... I figured it was more regarding his attempts to feign self-control.

Frankly, when Coulson said he had one person as backup, neither Mike nor May entered the equation. My first thought was Barton.

Didn't Bobbie and Mac refer to a backup or something like that a few weeks ago? I thought that they might be talking about Barton. I can't remember where that fit in in the timeline of us finding out about "the real SHIELD" and such.

Mike was about the last person to cross my mind (ok, he didn't at all). I was thinking May, Maybe Fury, but I was really thinking Rodgers. I figure that he knows that Coulson's alive and running SHIELD... I mean, SHIELD runs the Avengers... I'm sure someone knows... right? ok, pushing it, but it was a GREAT reveal of Mike. looking forward to seeing him around more.

Great episode! I guess now we know why they brought Grant Ward back :)

EDIT: For a brief moment I was thinking the backup was going to be Capt. America as well.

The last page's worth of posts -- who people's minds went to for who the backup might be -- reminded me of an ongoing quibble of mine. I want to see more S.H.I.E.L.D. agents from the films pop up in this show. I don't need the really high-priced folks like Evans or Downey. Renner or Johansson would be great, but also unlikely due to cost. Smulders was a lovely treat in the pilot, and I wish we'd seen more of her. Even minor characters, like the guy playing Galaga, or the kids from the Item 47 short, or Danny Pudi from his cameo in Winter Soldier... Just something to tie the show more a little more to the movies and one-shots.

I was actually thinking it would be the Hulk since that cabin was made for Bruce Banner. I don't know why because that's probably the most unreliable backup you could get.

The kids from the item 47 short would be good, yes. It's kind of hanging out there - did they go Hydra because Jasper Sitwell recruited them, or did they go SHIELD?

From the series, I would also really like to see Agent Blake return. Oddly, when I have been watching the show on Hulu lately, the Agent Blake actor, Titus Welliver, keeps appearing in a commercial.
