Looks great!

since I missed out on my big toy, I picked up the Revell snap-tire Falcon that’s about 8” diameter today. It lights up I guess! Batteries included!

Maybe next week sometime.

Perhaps you find time :). Even if it is very addicting to me I am glad somehow that I don‘t have to paint everyday. And I hope the Weather gets better so I wouldn’t want to airbrush either.

Seriously she's perfect!
And paint worked... didnt need that PE grill after all.
Did they end up giving you good reference shots in the magazine?
I hope you have a nice area to display her.
Cheers,
Josh

thank you Josh! What do you mean, if the Deagostini magazine had good reference pics? For a limited time online but I didn’t download them when they were available. So I started without good reference pics but the internet and nice other users helped me out.
I read about the deagostini Falcon since 2016, built it in 2018 (hated it) before the birth of my first child and now used the lockdown to paint it eventually. I am glad that another model builder suggested to use air brush since I had a lot of respect trying it before.

I wanted to put it on a Wallmount in a corner of our sleeping room. My wife for sure wouldn’t be happy but I also don’t know if I still want that because you need good lights to display the model. We will see. First my 2. child will arrive in the next month and will be priority no.1.

Where are the Deagostini Builders? I‘m thinking if I should buy the paragrafix Engine Grill but I don’t know, it is more expensive than my Air brush. Is it worth it?
Hey MartinH, I finished my Deago MF approx 2 - 2 1/2 yrs ago mate and it was a mashup of the 5ft & 32” filming models (along with personal mods !)

Your paintwork and weathering is fantastic !...,
As far as the Engine grill went, I ended up scratching my own using styrene, though I did use the excellent Paragrafix Hold and Corridor sets.
Hope you don’t mind me sharing a few pics.

Yeah I was referring to the magazine. I didnt realise they only put the pics online. I thought they were going to publish them. If another run of this ever comes through Australia I will have to subscribe. I remember at the time dismissing it thinking what half arsed BS are they concocting here... joke was on me!

Good luck with the new one. We planned for 2, two accidents later we now have 4 with our eldest being 7. It's a busy house!! And I understand just how busy you will be.

My plan is to build an enclosed coffee table to display my falcon. Im sure you will come up with something soon enough mate.
Cheers,
Josh

Hey Gedmac, I‘ve already seen Your pics, looks really good. I don‘t mind if you are sharing them at all :).
In the beginning I wasn‘t sure if I should paint the 5 foot on the deago falcon, glad I didn’t do it. Some little influence seems to work great (like yours) but I‘ve seen someone’s falcon totally in 5 foot style. He did a great paint job but for me it doesn’t quite work on the deago falcon.
The grill is really cool but I didn’t have too much patience for more customizing.
Hope you don’t mind me sharing a few pics.

I think they also had mostly pics of the bottom. Steve D seems to keep the top for himself ^^.
the deago is far from perfect regarding the price (some little unnecessary mistakes in details are astonishing) but I paid less on different platforms. And the only other alternative is the master replica which I don‘t really like anymore. Isn’t the deago available anymore in Australia?

Thanks and We will see, my wife doesn’t want 3 kids and it’s really stressful everytime, I’m getting old ;)

The Paragrafix Grill arrived after 2 weeks but I will not use it or open it so I can return it. Doesn’t look really convincing to me, would have used the white paper. Also not sure if it would have been brighter.

Yeah I watched Steve's tutorial on painting the Deago falcon and seemed to be a lot of excuses about the manufacturing. It is sad to hear they didn't share more information though.

No it doesn't seem to be available. The webpage just turned up broken links. A few sets come up for sale on ebay etc but at the understandable cost of a couple thousand dollars. I can afford to pay off a magazine subscription... not a huge purchase like that haha. So if it ever comes back around I will subscribe. If not it is no loss, my FM falcon will be just perfect.

Cheers,
Josh

Yeah in the Video he also says you can use the little marks or bulges on The surface for Orientation where to paint the lines. 90% of them are incorrect though. That really annoyed me, I would have been mad if I had paid the full price.

In Europe you get the deago still, often already build for Some hundred euros...

starks I just found 3 cheap offers online. And they all made the same mistake (like me before) because deago told us so in the magazine: Everyone painted the different Engines (? well I call them so) in Black and dark grey.
I made the same mistake before building the model and used many qtips and isopropanol to get rid of the paint.
Another example of the unnecessary mistakes they made. And that these used models aren’t expensive here...

Ok thanks.
I will do some hunting online.

I can't believe they suggested painting black in those access holes......
Cheers,
Josh
