Hey Guys,

i would like to post my Millenium Falcon, i‘d say the Upper Side is 95% finished now, some minor Details, the „tooth brush“ and Black Little Marks are still missing.
It is my Second painted Model and First Model were I used Airbrush. I First tried it with normal Brushed but didn‘t work at all.

I'm about to get my butt handed to me, but which kit is this? I'm sure there are tell-tale signs, but maybe it's just too early in the morning for me.

I think she looks good. I need to dig out the one I did a couple decades ago and see how it holds up today...

I also have a snow speeder and a tie fighter that won an award...

Thank You for Your kind words :)

This Model is sometimes really irritating, depending on the Lighting i like it more or less. Guess that is normal for a grey Model.

Today I tried the tooth brush method, but very very subtle. I think I won‘t use it more.

I added the Last Details and think it is done! (Despite the 2 deflectors in the Front, there is still something to glue). Maybe 10 Hours work since the Last Post, but i don‘t think the pics show it. Here are some pictures under different Lichts.

I painted all the grey Streaks, next the Rust colours.
The Airbrush was already broken after 2 months, the new one only cost 10 € more (still only 60) but is much better so that I could have saved a lot of time and energy if I used it from the start.

Fantastic work!
I see some guys do nice brush work but it's very hard to reproduce something that was sprayed without spraying.
I had an Iwata I used for years and ended up buying a Neo by Iwata which has a handle and trigger more like a conventional spraygun and man it makes life easy.
You really did a top job on this. Seems more and more guys produce high quality falcons.
Did you find the large scale of the model helped ease the process of painting?
Cheers,
Josh

Thank You Josh! Yeah I only painted 1 other Modell, with Brushes but you also can't paint the Red and Grey areas that smooth with normal Brushes. I think it is easier to paint a large model but I don't have any experiences Airbrushing other models ^^.

Where are the Deagostini Builders? I‘m thinking if I should buy the paragrafix Engine Grill but I don’t know, it is more expensive than my Air brush. Is it worth it?

Doesn't the paragraphix grill come with the diffused paper insert for back lighting? Not sure what was offered with the model?

By the way your painting is continuing to look fantastic. The model was very randomly painted, especially with false panel lines, splatter etc and things like lines and blobs of rust... almost seems totally unrealistic!

Cheers,
Josh

Thank You! Right I actually thought replicating is sometimes more difficult since everything they did in the first place was „right“, Even if they messed something up they could say it was intended that way.

Here is a comparison of the standard an the paragrafix grill, it is a metal grill with a colored or a white plastic plate behind it. It seems the light is a lot brighter which would be good.

I dont see an issue per say with the Deagostini grill, most of us seem to add blue somewhere and correct me if Im wrong but from my observations the Falcons engines only ever looked bright white before the CGI was added.

Im guessing the Deagostini part is printed plastic? What would bug me is the transparency through the Grill. If you wanted to save some dollars would be easy to repaint that grill over the top giving some depth and more opacity.
Cheers,
Josh
