Marshal O'Niel, Sean Connery. Outland 1981. Clothears Costumes.

"Clear" images of the badge, no. The only scene in the film where you get a "good" look at it is the control center scene after Montone is killed. The new Sargent is wearing it. I was certain I had screen caps someplace, I'll have to look and see if I can find them. Even on HD this film is super dark and the details at times are lost.

I haven't seen a replica yet that was the proper 2-tone gold & silver. (Probably because it's way more expensive to do) I love my Alchemy badge but unfortunately it's just all gold & blue.

The future badges would be correctly colored. Dan is a pretty big fan with an eye for detail. The Deputy badges I believe are basically all gold (and blue) the Sergeant (SP?) badges silver and blue and the Marshal badges, both with silver and gold and blue enamel.

For reasons unknown his name is spelled BOTH WAYS in the movie!

Lol, the 3 Key patch also changes position on the shoulder, sometimes even in the same scene, being rotated 1/3 turn which changes the design. It's pretty funny. Key Teeth down, like matching wings is how it appears on O'Neil's uniform most of the time. I think his flight jacket had it rotated, turning it into a "teeth up" design.

I love how right after he did the costumes for 'Alien', John Mollo did 'Outland'. Same with the music by Jerry Goldsmith who did the same thing. And also 'Outland' re-used sets from 'Alien' and then some sets built for 'Outland' went on be be used as the hallways of Hadley's Hope in 'Aliens'. It's all so connected.

Those metal powders for metal-looking fingernails etc. would do a good job on a badge not getting a lot of handling (and it could be re-done in the future if needed). Would also allow cold-casting (or even printing) and then paint and metallic finish. Should be huge money either, unless you MUST have a metal badge... (add some washers or fishing weights; maybe lead shot added to the resin, to give it some "heft")

Maybe someone could experiment with the nail powder and resin, in a mold and see the result(y)(y)

This is something I found and have in my Amazon cart saved for "later".

I don't recall if it was suggested or just the best buy at this point. I never bought it however.

Something I'd been trying to put together for a while, but then gave up and asked Clothears Costumes to make it for me.

I provided the patches and some of the accessories (I think the badge was from someone on RPF), but everything else is Clothears.

Finding the right material, getting the correct cut etc. etc. The usual Clothears attention to detail.

Very happy with it.

I have to know where the "scrambled eggs" came from on the hat! Been looking for some accurate ones forever, and an accurate hat for that matter. Is your hat a wool blend? And who did you go to for the patches? Thanks!
