Mark 40 Shotgun WIp

Hi BSD,
Me again. Hope you don't mind me adding stuff.
Seems that the boot is missing some "sock" up to the shin.
I tried to add it, but haven't figure it out how to bend.
Maybe a little free-hand modification will do.

Here is the picture of the added parts

Do you just mean the empty space there? That space is acts just like the space between the back of the thigh and shin. It's usually covered with a foam piece that can bend.

Watch this video by BlackDynamo1 at 3:25ish for what I mean. The same thing can work for the Shotgun boot.

Just shoot me an email and I will post it. I will post the paper unfolds soon.

That was initially what I am trying to do.
I filled the gap first, then try to make strips out of it.
I can't do it in pep, so that's why I said a little free hand.

I was lost too... couldnt figure out what (if ANYTHING) should go in that empty space.

These are what I did not model.. If someone wants to model this in please feel free.. I was just going to use some strips of foam

Oh BTW,
The left side shoe plate was a bit too angled.
I fixed that too.

The problem with the IM shoes, is that RDJ was wearing raised heel.
So they will need to add a shoe plate to cover it.

If we do not wear raised heel, it'll be a huge space there, and it is awkward, and I hate it.
I just noticed that when tried to figure out the shoes on Mk42.
From Mk 2 - 7 it wasn't that obvious.

Same thing happen here.

Another alternative is to lower the angle of the top shoes, and extend the front shin plate downward.
It'll make it more "normal" look of a shoe.

send me your revised file and I will post it.

I am sorry, I gave up.
I thought it was a simple things to do, but it wasn't.
Guess it would be simpler to just free hand it.
I would be something like this
675889896.jpg

1. First cut the side panel (like L shape), then the other side.
2. Use the inner side length to make the center panel
3. Cut the side panel into strips, but narrower at the end, number them
4. Cut the center panel into strips.
5. Connect the center with the side strips according to the number
6. connect tje whole strips with one long foam strip in the center.
7. Glue the top strips to the shin.

Hope it helps.

If somebody can make it to pep, that'll be great.
