Done / Completed Mando Beskar Ingot in METAL - TWO RESERVES LEFT

What about the. marbling effect, is it going to look like Damascus steel?
Yes an no. Damascus steel looks different than Beskar. The former has a lot of ”jaggies” along the waves, and usually more circular patterns, while Beskar has smooth waves. Beskar also seems to have more light-dark tonal variations in the waves.

So, it will look like this (but with real metal shine underneath, not spray paint):

The one on the left is a screencap, the two on the right are my prototypes, each with a different silver spray paint (dark/light) under the pattern. I'm not absolutely sure yet which screen pattern I'm going with, but probably the one above, since that's the very first bar we saw in the show.

Updated the signup list. Will Josh and Lauren please confirm your RPF names so I can mark you in the list, thanks!

Also... if anyone sees anything weird in the signup list, please let me know. As of writing, I have 9 deposits.

Got it, thanks! And list has been updated.

Been working on refining the pattern a little tonight... I got some new ideas... nothing revolutionary as I'm happy with the baseline, just small things I'm toying with. And I've ordered a bunch of finishing supplies. Now we just have to wait until the foundry is done with the test casting...

I'll jump in on this as well if there is still room - ready with deposit if I can jump on
Sure, I don't have a set limit yet. You should have gotten an invite to the converstation with payment info.

I might cap the deposits at around 20 or so since I don't know exactly how long each will take to finish. (I don't wanna be finishing and sending out ingots all into next summer, lol!) Kinda depends on how long the foundry will need to do them. Each one is sand-cast, then will have the mould lines ground off, before final polishing. Then I'll take them and arrange the final steps, adding the pattern and oxide wash for the stamp.

I'm so ready... this will sponsor so many foundlings

Screw it, I'll just go for it. You're the only one doing the pattern right IMO and ultimately, I really would rather have a metal one than a resin one. You can add me to the list.

Haha. There seems to be lots of folks doing them, but not as many as "Baby Yoda".

You should have a PM with info.

In other news... I spoke with the foundry today and I might possibly have something interesting to show soon. Don't get your hopes up yet though... we're supposed to get snow here in the morning and I have a full plate, but I took a day off and will be trying to visit them directly tomorrow. Will update you all as soon as I have something worth reporting on!

I also got emails stating that some of the other supplies I've ordered are on the way.

Yeah, all of the ones I've seen are perfectly flat on the faces and people keep wanting to etch the pattern in. I was going to wait for one of your resin ones, but I'd rather have metal.

Deposit sent.
