I thought it’s those but you’re right, there are some differences

So... Request of those with a practiced eye, vis-a-vis the Amban. The Hasbro/Nerf one... They say it's modeled 1:1, and the receiver area looks like it very well could be. The scope is obviously different. The pickle fork looks pretty close (albeit the muzzle too large bore). I can't tell if it looks like the stock root has been foreshortened. The portions of the barrel between the receiver and muzzle definitely have, but I can't tell by how much beyond ballparking.

If all three barrel sections and the bore are re-done, and possibly the stock, would the rest of the detailing be accurate enough to work with? Weighing the cost-benefit balance between this and various raw materials and sweat equity... versus a kit off Etsy or the like.

Man I wonder how they got that crazy pitted paint texture without damaging the silver underneath. Would speckling acetone or something on paint make it do that?

My feeling is it is worth it. The receiver has some of the most detailed parts, so using that as a base would make life much easier.

Could be it was done in layers of the same color to give it the texture. It's crazy cool looking!

That's my thought. I have one on order. Just wished someplace like Target or even Amazon would get it, so if I see it in person and think it sucks it's easy enough to return.

UPDATE: Actually, I just found it on Amazon. No free returns, but it does have a pre-order price guarantee.

I actually just noticed Hasbro states "Final Product May Vary", so maybe they'll realize it's a bit short and change it to truly be 1:1 like they're advertising. It's not supposed to ship for about 10 months, so they should still have time.

I think the helmetmaster is textured and the made this silverareas later on the green. If you use a hard sponge and press it on a texture it looks like this.

It should be perfect for my purposes. I’m mostly getting it as a “belt hanger” as it were.

That Nerf rifle looks horrible IMO. Here are some good pics of the rifle for those who want to study it.

I dunno, all the big details and some of the small ones seem to be there...proportions overall seem good. Stock is obviously short.
