Man of Steel (Pre-release)

I'm just going to be too distracted going "Oh hey, it's Russel Crowe" to enjoy the scene. Maybe that'll change when it comes out, but right now seeing this it feels like I'm going to be pulled out of the movie and paying too much attention to who the actor is.

Exactly what I was thinking.

On the bright side - chubby Cosplayers finally have themselves Jor Elthey won't have to skip Golden Corral for

I really like the look of Jor-El. I think eveyone - including me - for some reason was expecting the all-white glow outfit from the original. I think it's safe to say we've moved on from that...

Lets face it - things are going to be different in this movie:

1) No glasses on Clark Kent:

2) No red underwear on Superman:

So why should we be surprised to see a fat, rundown, gray, Jor-El wearing a costume that looks like anything ranging from a floor mat to drapes from the Versailles??

I was worried about the glasses as well- but I remember reading somewhere that he will indeed wear them- just not in that scene (possibly it's before he gets to Metropolis)

I'm totally over the lack or red briefs too- I think it's something that lots of people wanted to get rid of for a long time, but nobody wanted to be the first one to actually do it- so I'm glad someone took the step! I actually like Cavill's suit more than the current New 52 version

Can't wait for this movie! You KNOW the first time Supes really hits someone the audience will cheer! :lol
*edit* I also like how Superman, Jor El, and Zod have similar outfits. That was a nice touch

I dunno.I'm not digging the 'royalty' look on Supes'' costume or the Jor-El costume at all. Worked for Thor because they WERE royalty. Jor-El is a scientist.

And why does Superman have a belt buckle and no suit?! Is that a Staples 'Easy' button in case he get's into trouble?

I hate to jump ship on DC but I'm looking forward to the new Spider-man more than this.

So with the Jor-El pic being the same material as Superman's suit and this pic of Zod (notice the material and the cuffs again) it's fairly obvious now that the suit is Kryptonian and not created on Earth.

Yes good observation- and I really like that much better!
Classic or not- having your mom make a costume for you makes you a DORK. Superman shouldn't be a dork
I LOVE that his outfit came with him from Krypton

It would seem awfully coincidental though that if he came to Earth as a baby, that he'd end up having an adult sized suit with him that he just happened to fit into perfectly 30 some years after his arrival.

After what? 40-50 years, the hulk still has pants on after turning from bruce (5'10, 175lbs) to the hulk (9-10' 800lbs??).

Just saying it's no big deal if the suit is a perfect fit. Who says the material can't be altered to fit him? Who's to say it's not a space-age spandex that fits nearly anyone?

That pic doesn't look like a zod who's much older than 20 something, either. Shouldn't he be older?

Actually, if you look at Jor-El's cuffs, the shapes where the extra fabric attaches to the suit, and the red cape on his back, I'll guarantee that his suit ends up Kal's. So the suit wasn't made on Earth, rather altered on Earth. The idea that Superman's suit that we've seen so far is Kryptonian in origin, gives me hope that we'll see another suit later in the film that's closer to his traditional suit.
