if i were to sculpt something in plastaline and then cast it in order to make the end result a character made out of crystical plaster , , ,what would be the best method of creating the mould?
silicone?
latex?
alginate?
or some other substance?

trying to stick to low budget too so if u have ideas please send em this way.

silicone is obviosly the easiest way but again im trying to stick to a budget.

I understand that plasticine contains something that prohibits molding compound from curing. Try Klean Clay or some oil-based clay.

Some (but not all, chavant NSP for example does not) plasticines contain sulfur which will mess with certain types of silicone.

I've never heard of the type of plaster you mentioned, or what the sculpture looks like, but casting plaster in plaster molds used to be very common (if you do everything correctly).
