Magneto First Class Final Costume Build

I'm not terribly convinced of the authenticity of this picture anymore either.

The dimensions seem slightly different on the "border" than seen in the screencap. The above photo shows a slightly sharper border, while the screencap shows the border to be slightly more rounded. The border also appears to be purple in the screencap, while chrome here. The emblem looks completely different, but I thought perhaps that could be a trick of shadow... but now I'm less convinced.

Edit: Okay, I don't know how to make that pic any smaller.

:lol:lol:lol GIANT PICTURE! I'm pretty sure that's a real picture of the helmet though.

I think the shape issue may be due to the angle of the pictures. The Movie shots all start with a full body shot from slightly below and swoop up to frame his face. The Miracole picture is shot with her looking down so we see alot more of the top and the angles all look different. They are also using a wide angle lens which is going to mess with your angles as well and she's just using a camera or cellphone.

The color is still picture in the girl one, but I'm fairly certain the lighting makes it looks "less purple" than in the movie. Also, who's to say they didn't decide the helmet wasn't quiet purple enough and went in and adjusted it in post?

And the crest I think is the same. Here I've changed the levels and contrast on the screen cap and adjusted the angle and perspective on the Miracole version and they look like they match to me.

As I examine it... I can see where you're coming from...

I can see the little tell tale shapes in the image you've lightened that does make it seem a bit closer.

No idea whether or not anyone gets my Harvey Birdman references or not...

It's a little odd to post to a thread that the person that started hasn't posted in literally 2 YEARS. Your post would be more appropriate for a PM.

That all said, I've actually started working on this helmet again. I will post pics soon.

thanks a lot, I haven't tried pepakura yet, this looks like a fairly easy build i can practice on

I thought so too, but I've gotten to the bondo stage 4 times on this helmet and had to throw in the towel due to mistakes. My latest one warped. I think I had too much hardner in the resin. Unfortunately I didn't notice how bad the warping was until I put my first layer of bondo on and sanded it. Not noticeable from the sides or back, but very from the front and the top. May make a 5th attempt down the road but for now, moving on to something else. Good luck.
