Macrobinoculars Seagull Knob

Clutch

I finally beat the Seagull camera to bits to remove the knob and now I think this piece needs to be removed in order to remove the clear plastic and numbers inside.

Does anyone know what to do here? I tried pliers and it won't budge.

No man, the black ring on the face is threaded. You don't have to remove that bottom piece.

It took me forever to figure that out, I was getting mighty p o'ed and realized that little black ring just unscrews.

Good luck and lemme know if you need any other help!! :)

Lol! Thanks. It took me a while, but I figured it out. The Seagull is an absolute riddle.

How many rotations does it take to get the black ring out?

I don't think the knob on mine is as perfectly round as it should be, so after an hour of trying and two sore thumbs it's moved maybe 10-15°.

It is very thin. Shouldn't take much at all from what I can remember.

Hey guys, what is the going method for attaching the knobs to the Eumig?

Is everyone drilling and tapping holes?

Gluing?

Thanks! :)

Thanks Cameron.

Are you using the existing tripod mount hole on the Eumig as the position for mounting the first smaller knob, and then adding the other diagonally and lower from it?

Are the Seagull knobs used on the side and the Kalimar knobs on the top near the viewer or vice versa?

Also for the larger Seagull knob, is it canon to make this with, or without the clear plastic lens installed over the Bell and Howell inserted knob?
