Your work is incredible.... Since you've got such a great set of internal pictures, I'm using your model as reference for my own!

Inspiring work, wish i had the time/rescources/skill to pull this off. Thats why you have got to do a kit. Blows the museum reps one away!!

I am glad to see that the pictures are of help to the people taking a stab at an RT. The waters were pretty muddy for me until I started breaking the assembly down into smaller subassemblies and individual parts.

It wasnt until seeing the prop in chicago that the back fin assembly became clear. Most of the reference pictures on the internet were money shots of the front face.

Good luck with your RT project and thanks for the kind words.

Please find enclosed some pictures of the latest progress on my RT.

First up is the copper ring that hangs below the main assembly. It is wrapped copper wire with some red pin striping tape in various location.

I machined out 3 holders to keep it in position relative to the other bits. The holders are also going to be used to help center this assembly into the assembly with the copper coils.

Last stop on the main build of the RT was the brass filaments which join each of the copper coils.

I wanted to try and maintain a consistent radius with these and wasnt confident I would be able to easily do this by hand...so I machined out each assembly as a whole.

The brass is 0.01 stock. You can get a sense of how small these things are in the picture with the dime.

After putting a bit of solder on each pad it started to look a bit better.

And with that the whole assembly went back together.

Next stop is to finish off the display case and electronics.

The glass is unfortunately a few days out but hopefully I will be able to update the thread soon.

Thank you all once again for the kind words and comments.

Jason
