M38 scope mounting screws thread size?

Would anyone know what size thread the M38 scope mounting screws have? I have the originals but I want to mount Hengstler there, to the front mount of the scope, so I would need longer screws to accommodate the Hengstler mount.

Have you tried using a caliper to measure if you have the originals?
Someone else might have the correct answer though. God speed!

Thanks for the only reply! I did get it figured out, 5+ years ago when I originally posted. Kudos to you for offering help. I cant remember details, but I do have new hex bolts on it now.

Thats great! What were the sizes btw?

I have no clue Its been sitting in its case ever since and the few screws left over are lost somewhere
