You should see if you can get in contact with Goth-3Designs. See if would do the chassis for you. If people knew there would be a chassis that is available to help with the install I think it would help sell your saber to people (Like me!!! ) I'm definitely following this thread with interest.

Shot above was on facebook from one of the movies prop displays. Still sticking with the hope we can have this dull/dark when purchased vs having to do it on my own (never have been too good with that). I'll again stick with saying if it's released with a shine it's simply another Hero version with a tri-ring in a new position.

As far as any type of anodizing goes.......If the machine shop delivers a product free of mill marks, anodizing would be ok. You can forget about using Aluminum Black for weathering as it will not penetrate the hard coat anodizing (clear or not).

I did get in on the run and have paid with the understanding that the screen used saber (CG or not CG) was the goal. I prefer the "natural silver" if any but would be fine with bare aluminum so that they can be weathered at the owners discretion.

Thank you for pointing this out. I have to say bare aluminum aswell - just anodize the black part.

I also noticed the two screws. Finally there are here as well. So I guess in your design update you will add them, do you?

The pommel looks less crisp on the display to the hero scene.

Most likely the entire saber has been CG'D

The sizes that I took from the new photos almost coincide with what I did before.
I'll change the box a little (add screws), add a hole in the blade cap and change the dimensions a bit. Tomorrow I'll give the drawings to the manufacturer.
