I have one question to discuss.
There are several options for coverage (anodizing).

1. Light silver



2. Matte silver v1


3. Matte silver v2



4. Natural silver



Wich one should we apply? I can also make different cover for different parts

The white gloves photos look like matte silver (unsure whether it is matte silver v1 or matte silver v2). So I prefer a matter silver. Otherwise if we are unsure, then natural silver is the alternative. Light silver will be too shiny, not suitable at all. Just me, but whatever the majority decides, I follow.

I'm not sure what direction I want to take this in, whether that be weathered or polished. Whatever finish can give me options when in hand.

I had a closer look - I think matte silver v1 is closest. I would go with it.

I think that It will not have a gloss. Look at some more examples of matte finishing.


I think it needs to be "natural silver" anodized:

two things, payment sent, sorry I have the flu and wasn't looking at emails. second natural silver anodized seems the most accurate to the flashback scenes, it seems darker but its also dark right?

Yes, it's a little bit darker than non-anodized aluminum. And reflective. I think I'll use "natural".

I like the natural best. I think it’s the one best suited to work with.

I think "natural silver"would be closest to the screen used saber.

Loving that matter silver. It looks to me most like the "White glove" photo. We already have countless shiny/polished looking hilts, hoping this one can look a little different and I think matte accomplishes that, especially the V2 matte

This photo is where the saber really differentiates itself from all the other Luke Hero's. Hoping this is the look we get. It's a very dark, dull, non-shiny look

It can still reflect light. Matt anodizing is not capable of this

is there any way to get that darker but even look with the coloring? All my other Luke's are just too shiny for my tastes.

They are the same in in linear dimensions, I'm sure about it, but differ in coverage and in box plates.
Perhaps it's the same hilt in the movie with CGI and a different light falling on it.

I'm going to make CreepyUncle version with an eye for WhiteGlove one. Now we are discussing the issue of coating with the supplier.

I'm not on the run. But I was wondering if I could throw out a thought. I would think that it would be a good idea to leave the aluminum bare? Then builders could darken it with some oven cleaner to match the White Glove version or leave as is for the Creepy Uncle version.

It is hard to make anodizing at home. It'll be better to do it on factory.
