Done / Completed Luke's TLJ «CreepyUncle» hilt - SOLD OUT

Re: Luke Skywalker's TLJ «CreepyUncle» Lightsaber Pre-order

I think the cubes look good the way they are now. maybe see if they can produce the pummel with less mill marks. Looks awesome! I think this might become my favorite saber in my collection.
I need your advice: do I need to round the corners of th pommel cubes a little more than now?

Re: Luke Skywalker's TLJ «CreepyUncle» Lightsaber Pre-order

It's resin version... It looks smoother than in a movie.

I agree that there is definitely a difference between the resin and screen pommel cubes. The resin cubes are much more rounded.

Re: Luke Skywalker's TLJ «CreepyUncle» Lightsaber Pre-order

I'm sure it's not screwed on yet in the pictures, but the control box looks like it needs to move towards the pummel a little bit more. Looking good!!!!
The surface treatment has not yet been completed, the coating and some small details will be refined. As you can see, the sample is not yet fully assembled

Im no expert on this hilt,so I wont chime in advice. But it looks great from my stand point

Re: Luke Skywalker's TLJ «CreepyUncle» Lightsaber Pre-order

I was also thinking that you might consider increasing the initial grenade rings OD by a couple of thousandths so that they maintain the finished diameter when they are turned to remove the anodizing from the ring edges.
Do you think you can see or feel a couple of lost thousandths?

Re: Luke Skywalker's TLJ «CreepyUncle» Lightsaber Pre-order

I am no engineer but would it make any difference to the rings if they were left as they are?

Just wasn’t sure what this comment meant?

Re: Luke Skywalker's TLJ «CreepyUncle» Lightsaber Pre-order

The whole grenade section will have to be anodized. Then, material will be removed to expose the bare aluminum on the outer edge. I had another version of this saber where the step down in outer diameter was noticeable and the grenade section appeared undersized compared to the section under the clamp. .

Oh ok got ya! Thanks (y))

Re: Luke Skywalker's TLJ «CreepyUncle» Lightsaber Pre-order

Sorry for the lack of news, we had holidays. Soon there will be a photo of the test coating on one part. And, possibly, the accelerated oxidation of brass parts.
In general, the geometry of all the parts was approved and they will be produced serially.

From the last - we agreed which screws will be used under the triangular LEDs in the control box.

Nice clear picture of the beauty, just thought I would put it in here to get everyone pumped up!

Re: Luke Skywalker's TLJ «CreepyUncle» Lightsaber Pre-order

Lukaynov, I’d probably say the thin necks on your design are either too thin or too long. It may be an optic distortion of your images, but to me the Creepy Uncle looks beefier all around, compared to your sample.

From the photo comparisons, it sure does look that way

Re: Luke Skywalker's TLJ «CreepyUncle» Lightsaber Pre-order

It might be me but this length on the emitter looks a tad too long also

Re: Luke Skywalker's TLJ «CreepyUncle» Lightsaber Pre-order

Agree, the red arrow part indicated in the post above and the upper thin neck in brass/copper/whatever are too long. That's obvious. Or at least why was the prototype designed that way?
