Limited Run Luke V2 liightsaber (Second Run) Sign up thread

I have to admit, I am confused as to how & where the set screw shaft collar will go, & it's function concerning this lightsaber.

It goes at the end of the steel rod after the bearing to keep the emitter on.

Thank you sir. I just ordered the stainless steel sleeve. So will this slide up into the emitter? I'm trying to find a thread on the assembly, to get a better idea of the difficulty or ease of putting this together. I'm just gathering all the required extra parts that will be needed.

As far as I know the emitter is connected to the rod via set screw then the rod goes into the main body then a bearing is added to help with the emitter spinning and then the set sleeve goes on inside the body to keep everything together.

Oh, & a few other questions,

Will we need to drill a hole into one of the pommel cubes, get a d-ring & install it? Doses the pommel come pre-drilled? Do we need to get a d-ring, or does the kit come with one?
& lastly, is the base of the pommel painted & weathered also? I've read that it looks like someone used it a hammer to drive some nails, & you can see that in one of the images in the beginning of this thread. But am I seeing things right? as it kinda looks painted & weathered on top of the nail dings. Or is that just the lighting?

Hi all,

With Anakin Starkiller's (Dan's) approval I've expanded my collection of blueprints with the creation of the V2 drawing.

It's also on my goodies page: http://wannawanga.com/goodies/

Please feel free to share it, print it, frame it or whatever you please! :)

You will need a d-ring, the hole for that is already drilled. However the hole for the mystery chunk is neither drilled nor tapped so you will need to do that. I think they come with d-rings but I think roy makes a more accurate one (the one he uses for his ANH saber) from comparing the pictures. The pommel was never painted it just got a bit banged up, so drop it on the floor I guess?

Beautiful! I love your Lightsaber blueprints!

May I ask however why your luke ANH saber has the clamp oriented the way that it is?

PS: Please make a ANH Vader blueprint!!

Hey Roy, it would be just as awesome as your V2 blueprints if you did a full color wallpaper rendering just like your others of the sabers, please?!?! I know I would have it as my wallpaper on my huge flatscreen monitor just like I have the others!!

Thanks! And the clamp in my blueprint of Luke's ANH lightsaber is oriented this way, since that is what's seen most on screen. I call it 9 o'clock, because I consider the bunny ears 12 o'clock and looking at the bottom side.

I will one day! I need to update my CAD model; it's currently not completely accurate.

:) sounds good. I'll try to do this maybe soon, but the weathering will be tricky, since the chipped paint is so recognizable and important. Maybe I'd need the digital files of the decals!

I always thought it was oriented at more like 10:30 in relation to the ears. Sorry,I'm not trying to criticize I'm just really curious about the orientation since it would be really mad with myself if all this time I'd been wrong. I always went by this chart (the one on the left) maybe it was both?image.jpeg

Well, the Graflex top and bottom can rotate 'freely' for about 45 degrees. I like things organized, so that's why I choose to position it at 90 degrees relative to the ears.

Hint, hint to the maker of those V2 stencil digital files?!?!

hint hint to do a second run of stencils to go with this? :lol
I actually already did a full second run, it's mentioned in the first post of this thread and all orders have already been shipped and probably all received by now.

I believe he was trying to ask you to lend your files to Roy so he could make a full color rendering of the V2 saber.
It would be a great topic to discuss in the V2 thread, which is located here: http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=1862
