Luke ROTJ V2 lightsaber

Kurtyboy, thanks for that. I'd always wondered about those frames, makes sense now.

I know this thread is moving fast, but I wanted to make sure people saw this...

Any comments? Any suggested changes to this?

Also what overall width should the card be? In the past I've made them over-wide so that people could trim them down to their specific clamp. However, that just meant that lots of folks didn't have anything to trim the card with, or had to send them out.

If you all can tell me how wide it should be, as a better starting point, I can have them made that wide, and maybe the majority of folks won't have to go to the hassle of trimming.

@slothfurnace - I would go with wider. Dremels/files/sand paper aren't that expensive to get to sand them down. There are plenty of ways to sand them down; the trouble with many of these things that I've gotten on the forum that are pre-cut or pre-whatever to specifics are that they never end up working with what I have (caz's levers for example; they were made to fit a certain replica clamp and only by luck was I able to gerry-rig that to fit what I had due to me keeping the broken lever I had before).

It's just personal preference. I would rather have something that I can alter myself to have it fit my tastes than something made for one thing that I don't have. So, I vote go a tad wider.

Re: Luke ROTJ V2 lightsaber- based on the new info from SWCA

Here you go.

I'm not certain that is the same lever from ROTJ, could be the resolution, could be it was shined up.

So if no tape was used on the graflex clamp. Does that mean the clamp doesn't have the G R A F L E X stamped in it?

Re: Luke ROTJ V2 lightsaber- based on the new info from SWCA

My only thought was that if Brandon matched a clamp with a missing sidebar, then it was probably the same lever. I'm up for anything. This is the most fun I've had since the identification of the Obi-Wan parts!

No, it's there, you can see it on the Emperor's throne.
Look along the white reflection on the clamp, you can just make out the upside-down "A" in graflex.

Oh man buddy you got some good eyes, I can't make that out. Probably my ancient screen

That's a logical assumption, and I tend to agree with you. I just want to make sure we don't go chasing phantoms.

Me too!

The bar the fifth from the right and at the far right...do they connect to the long line at the top? That's what I'm seeing, but not sure if that makes sense from an electronics POV.

Also, if there's some discrepancy in clamps (is there?) I'd go a smidge wide. It's not too hard to sand something down. Are Parks, RE, original different in some way?

This is what I see too. Given how tiny the rectangle on the left is, I think this is part of the board, and I think those two leads run under the horizontal lead we can see, up to those rectangles.

I did some quick tweaking of your image, hope that's ok.
Here is what I'm seeing.

Yeah that's fine for sure, I welcome the feedback. I will make some edits over lunch tomorrow when I am at the computer.

From an electronics standpoint, I don't think they connect to that line... Otherwise the traces would just go straight up. I am thinking they terminate in via pads, that cross to the other side of he board, hence the 90 degree bend to one side or the other, and the wider via pad.

i could be wrong though, really wish we had a sharper image of it.

I'd say around 15mm is perfect. Still can be trimmed if need be, but not so much that you'd need to take all day or special tools.

Also... one detail I don't know if we've covered... where everyone thought there was a filister screw under the cone knob... it's a square chunk of aluminum. Not a screw of any type.

Or to the other side of the board, but they definitely meet that horizontal one

I was waiting for this, Dan said he'd look into it I think

Re: Luke ROTJ V2 lightsaber- based on the new info from SWCA

Now that I look at it, even though it looks like utter crap, it has that contoured shape of the lever Brandon showed us.

Edit: don't forget, this could also be the Shared Stunt. The one Obi Wan holds up definitely is the V2, given that picture at celebration. Unless we're sure the stunt in this picture is also missing that sidebar..
