Luke is a tool in ROTJ and Chewbacca is buck naked. SW Overthunk.

Who's the more foolish Larry, the fool, or the fool who follows him? :lol

I should mention that in ESB, I thought it was a poor choice to include snakes and iguanas and other Earth animals in Dagobah. Anyone else find it was distracting? I can understand the whole main characters-as-human thing, but seeing that snake immediately broke the fourth wall for me.

Also, wasn't it a bit weird Luke was so easy to send the Droids outside the cantina into the Lion's den? The same droid with vital information for the rebellion? Sure Ben used the Jedi mind trick on four storm troopers, what if there was another outside. Why not just use it on the bartender?

"They don't have to wait outside. You serve their kind" :lol

Doesn't the fact that Vader can zip from Tarkin's office to fight Ben indicate it's pretty close? If it was on the other side of the Death Star, then I think we should've seen Vader get into a travel tube that can go at about 100,000mph to get to where Ben is.

Maybe he was on an elevator/tube... but Lucas cut it out because the Execs at Fox didn't get the whole "Vader in the elevator/tube" alone part. They couldn't clear the music rights with the Imperial muzac corp. and it just slowed the pace. I'm thinkin Grand Moff office was right next to the main port. Imperial construction workers were pissed at the 10 min breaks they got in stead of the 15 they got working on other Imperial projects and were laughing when they changed the blueprints on Tarkin. A little f__k U from the working staff!

"Going up?"

"Uh, actually down."

"Oh, huh. Oh well, I'll just ride it down."

"Are you sure Lord Vader? I mean, I really don't mind..."

"No, it's fine.

"You sur..."

"I said it's fine."

Be thankfull.......if they'd filmed it a couple of years later, Dagobah would have been over-run with Muppets!

I imagined Vader standing in an elevator, listening to the same muzak version of "Girl From Ipanema" as featured in Blues Brothers. Cut to Solo and Chewie chased by stormtroopers, droids in the hangar bay... cut back to elevator. Vader moving about impatiently. "Girl From Ipanema" plays on.

Cinema gold.

Actually I just checked in the Rinzler book and it turns out Lucas did shoot such a shot as he was worried about what folks would think about the size of the Death Star interior, and it was cut precisely for the reasons you mention. In fact it was a whole sequence of Vader in elevators, sitting in travel tubes, getting out to change tubes etc. etc.

Here's a few more:

1. (Although I suspect this a 70s language issue) wasn't it a bit dramatic for Luke to tell the X-Wing service man that "not on his life" would he change droids? Doesn't this literally mean that he cares less about whether this gentleman lives or dies than Luke having R2 with him on his ship? :lol

2. Totally looks like Ben commits suicide and lets Vader kill him. Pretty heavy.

3. What's with the look Luke gives Leia when he says "I just...wish Ben was here"? Totally looks like he's hoping for some sympathy kisses. Nice, exploit the death of a friend.

1. The way you have it worded, had me laughing big time. :lol

2. See last statement in comment 3.

3. I never really thought about it that way, but after careful analysis in Lukes tone and the way he looks down, gives a nudge of a look up, than goes back down...you know it. Could be worse though, he could be the Ben from Family Guy...

maybe he snuck into Wedge's closet for that one.

Get clear Wedge, you're no good back there!

I've got a question and I'm sure that many of you will be able to think thru. In the briefing room before the attack of the Death Star, the plans show that the trench is leading to the North Polar Cap... now I always thought that the trench run was done at the equator trench but after analyzing the video at the breifing room (which isn't an accurate view of the DS in my opinion anyway) the "plans" shows that the trench is going up towards the polar cap but it was never really explained where that trench was so I just assumed because of the big trench at the equator that's where it took place. Anyone wanna clear this one up? Was it a trench on the upper part of the DS or in the middle? Amazing after all these years I still find little things like this that just make me giddy!

The novelization, and other sources, mention a "polar trench" or "power trench", where the rebel attack takes place. The equatorial trench is mostly docking bays and is huge, like a mile wide.

^That's a great way to explain it. To me, the ET was where all docking took place, the vertical trench is where Luke travelled and landed his shot at the north pole.

Anybody ever wonder why Chewbacca doesn't go out to try to rescue Han at Hoth? Seems kind of weird he chooses to just cry. And why let Han go by himself? Maybe he didn't know he left at first?

If indigenous wildlife freezes to death out there, what kind of chance would a tree dweller have?

He's the only one with fur. And he could put on some pants and a sweater. And we're tree dwellers. And why does he have fur if his home planet is hot?
