Lowes Plastidip $5.99

FYI guys...Lowes has Plastidip black spray for $5.99 a can. Pissed I paid $13.99 at NAPA for my first few cans. Doh!

They also have the brush on kind as well.

I picked some up from lowes the other week. Isn't that their normal price? They also had some of the dip in my local store. It's over with all the spray paint.

Thanx. Just checked the site, they don't seem to have it.

in Canada, plasti-dip is around 15-20 dollars depends where you go.

Home Hardware 15.99? Lowes 19.99? not sure the exact amounts but around there.

We get so ripped off here. We must be paying for some kind of Environmental tax. I really don't get the reason why so much more here..

Do they have this?

Seems somewhat similar to plasti dip. I don't if it would be any less though

Did a little research and turned up this. Rubberized undercoating for autos. $4.99. Might get a can tomorrow to see if it melts foam.

DON'T TRY THE UNDERCOATING.

I just tried it the other day and it smells ( and kind of looks ) like tar. :|

Well... I guess it might be okay depending what you're using it for...but I plan on wearing what I use it on and I'd rather not smell like a driveway.

Home Hardware recalled and discontinued the actual Plasti-Dip, though, for the record.

Home Depot carries it online only from what I see.

BUT THIS POST SAVES MY HALLOWEEN! Heading over to the US tomorrow to pick some up!! Thank you for posting about the crazy price difference! Even thinking about paying 15-20 a can was making me feel sick. :|

Hm... Actually the one you posted might be okay...the one I got actually said 'asphalt' on it. I thought it just meant asphalt black...not 'this is basically asphalt in spray form in a can'. My Dad works at Canadian Tire so he keeps bringing things to me to try out... If you're not in a hurry I'm sure I'll work my way to that one and report the findings.

The description of it does sound very similar to plasti dip...

I will probably give it a try tomorrow, I will let you know. The dry time is a little concerning but you work with what you've got.

Ah crap. When did that happen? Guess I'll have to ration whatever PD I still have. I never understood why we never seem to get that stuff. It's not like there's that many competing products that do the same thing up here. :facepalm

The guy at HomeHardware was telling me this last year. I thought he was telling me some bad info but... I guess he was right. :thumbsdown
