Lost season 6 with spoilers beware

That was a great episode! It's apparent that Eloise knows what's going on. It would seem that Desmond now has a good idea of what's going on now too. Also, nice to see Fisher Stevens again!

well if the timelines diverge at the explosion then that eloise still has daniel primes journal and knows about the original timeline etc.

Well, I'm glad they haven't killed Desmond yet, but something tells me that the sacrifice he's going to have to make is to leave Penny and push the button for the rest of his life.

Ok, Desmond . . . I do not buy his 'flip' and wanting to help Whidmore to (apparently from Desmond's point of view) switch events to the LA X timeline. In doing so he may bring back Charlie and Daniel (as far as he knows) from the dead but he would be sacrificing his son in the process. Of course his apparent willingness to do so could have been a red herring since he quickly 'flipped' to Sayid who demonstrated he was against whatever Whidmore's plan was.
All in all, a fun episode.
Would like to spend more time with the core characters, though.

I kind of got the impression that Desmond somehow lost his freedom of thought. Kind of like Sayid doesn't feel anything anymore, he sort of just went with whatever was presented to him.

Sort of like Sayid is a zombie of hatred, representing the MIB and Desmond is now a zombie of hope representing Jacob.

Of course I don't mean flesh eating zombie:lol, just that I agree they seem to have lost a certain will.

good to see desmond. In the flash sideways, he meeets and talks to Eloise, and it reminded me of the first time he flashed sideways and talked to her in the jewelry store. She scolded him for doing/notdoing something.

I like seening George back. He is still a facilitator to help people: Radio Op, to Limo Driver.

Can't wait for the Hurley Ep!

Well, the button imploded. ;) I don't think he'll be doing that again.

My impression was not that he lost his will but that he suddenly understood everything, his abilities, and what he was needed for. It was an awakening for him. He didn't go along with them, he said "When do we start?" that's not a mindless zombie IMHO.

Sayid is also not mindless, he's souless. I think Desmond went along with Sayid because he saw an opportunity to do what he was supposed to do, which at this point is to stop smokey the bandit.

Just when I thought I had a handle on where things might be going, i turn up here this morning and see differing theories all totally plausible... :)

I got the impression last night that Daniel was wrong. They weren't supposed to set off the H bomb. That that was the whole point of Desmond jumping to the alternate timeline, for daniel to tell him he was wrong. Once returning, it thought it odd Des was so, 'let's do it' and there was no fighting or anything, etc. But I figured he knew what he had to do, which was to someone go back and keep them from setting off the bomb. I was totally thrown when Sayid showed up, whacked 2/3 of the people des was with, let the girl go and Des just left with him like everything was cool. He displayed no emotion whatsover when sayid killed those people. Just stood there like everything was cool.

My question now is, what does the bomb and diverging timeline have to do with allowing smokie off the island? Seems somehow that's the catalyst for the events leading to his ability to possibly leave the island and if he leaves the island it seems everything ends.

I think Des sees the endgame and know that whatever happens (this reality swallows the other, that reality swallows this one, they merge, etc...) that he will get his 'happily ever after'. Doesn't matter if he goes with Widmore or Sayid. and in the FS h gets it, too (showing the manifest to the 815ers). That was a look of peace, not lost freedom of thought.

Never said mindless zombie, just that they lost a certain will.
Sayid never questions the MIB orders or motives. He just does what he's told to do and IMO now represents the dark side of human nature. Desmond appears to be doing the same now (in our world). He doesn't appear to be questioning or making his own decisions. Desmond is just acting out what I'm guessing is expected of him by a higher force (maybe Jacob).

The timelines don't diverge at the explosion; Ben's father is still alive, as is Miles', who was standing ten feet from ground zero.Whatever caused Dimension X (my bet it's Smokey's paradise he keeps offering to everyone), it wasn't Jughead.

This is a interesting screenshot from the next episode. To those who want to be spoiled check out the numbers or lack there of in a manner of speaking.

Then why did he let Zoe live? That seemed very odd to me, unless he wanted Widmore to know he took Desmond. And why take Desmond? Does MIB want him... and if so, I wonder what use he'll have for someone who is a 'constant'. (at least he was Daniel's constant)

Curiouser and curiouser. I feel like I'm back at season two interest level. :)

I know Sawyer told Smokie that that widmore had something locked up on the boat, but had no idea what. I can't recall if he told Sayid he wanted to know what was locked up in the sub - i think he did, but i'm not sure. I suppose he could have told sayid find what it is and bring it to me.

How Desmond see's all that and simply follows sayid with no change in expression or 'wft was that for' doesn't make any sense.

He might have let Zoe live to tell Widmore what happened as a "message" that the MIB can still touch him with or without the sonic fences.

Smoky doesn't know what the package is. In that last episode he stated that he doesn't like surprises after Widmore refused to reveal what was locked up. So perhaps he just told Sayid to get whatever Widmore had which just happened to be Desmond.
