I suppose from a legal standpoint neither of them are breaking the law, but sixteen?
It is scientifically proven that teenagers brains are not completely developed yet as they are still growing, and to make a life altering decisions like getting married should by all means be out of the realm of possibility. The fact that her parents consented to this is disgusting.
If I were a parent with a teenage daughter, and found out that a man 35 years older than her wanted to date her, I'd likely be in jail for murdering him. The way I see it, age is no longer a factor for two people to date, but ONLY after both people have reached an age where they are both consenting adults. Sixteen is NOT an adult.
As for an age difference like Hugh Heffner and one of his Playboy bunnies, that's a different matter because the majority of those women are at least in their twenties and are old enough to make more rational decisions than a teenager.
