Looking for info.... Conan/Blade/LOTR props

yes, my office is down to the bare minimum of SW stuff...all the SW posters are replaced, and I'm just displaying just the OT sabers...

I've added a Jayne and Mal pistol, and just today one of the precog balls from minority report (which is just totally totally cool), a V for vendetta Mask, and a Sting replica

anyhows, I'm also wanting to add a blade sword, a conan sword, and perhaps a couple more LOTR pieces

so here's the question, who makes the most accurate versions of those items... I know there are a million cheapy knock offs, but I'd like to have something with some heft, and quality

there's a conan's sword of the father all over ebay, but at $59 how good can it be?
I know UC filed bankruptcy, and LOTR stuff is drying up all over,
and as for Blade, again, a million knock offs

so who makes the best replicas of these

I'd also like to add a season 1 BSG sidearm any recommendations?
are there any other minority report props out there?

well I don't plan on reenacting the battle of the mounds if that's what your asking

any of these really stand out as good replicas at reasonable prices?

I have Anduril (+ wall plaque), Strider's sword (+scabbard and knife) and the daywalker knock-off (+ tactical scabbard), and they are really good (even for my standards ;) ) and I've spent less than $150 for 3 swords... I think it's a reasonable price :D

Marto makes a lot of very nice mid-price range Conan replicas for around 300.00 - 400.00 w/ shipping. Also that cheap Conan/Father sword on eBay cleans up pretty nice with some repainting. :)

thanks to you both for all the info

another question...

are there any good replicas of
Buliwyf's sword from the 13th Warrior?

and yet another question
for the LOTR stuff...

how's the Noble Collection Stuff compare to the United Cutlery stuff?

At least from what Ive heard: the UC swords are nicer than the NC swords but NC had better plaques. For a long time it was easier to find deals on the UC products so I don't know many people thet paid the higher costs for the NC swords. Might be easier to find NC swords soon though with the UC bankrupcy.

Hi tgreco, I'm sure there are some around here that are knowledgable about swords but I think your best bet for that kind of info would be swordforum. They have a section just for movie swords and you'll be able to do plenty of research there, hope that helps.

Kit Rae, one of UC's designers, posted on the old United Cutlery forums (now the Ultimate Collector's forums) today that UC had officially lost the LOTR license. So, now may be a good time to pick up UC LOTR stuff on eBay before prices jump up.

I'll never found a reasonably priced Glamdring here...
