Loki Masks

The ones I see on Ebay look like recasts of the ICONS replica. If that is the case, a really good paint job will give you an accurate, affordable Lokie Mask replica.

No, the Haunted Studios mask is awful!!!
For a start its made out of concrete! The back is solid and covered so you cannot wear it and it just looks awful!!

If you want a mask, get a resin one, trust me!

Thanks for the info.

What I'm saying is I've seen resin casts of the Mask on ebay that appear to be recasts of the ICONS replica.

Oh come on, :lol , its not bad at all for under 20 bucks. It's ideal for hanging on the wall and if you're not too fickle for detail. I like mine anyway :)

After all, he does say in the auction that its "cast in UltraStone™ (our exclusive blend of white cement and USG casting plaster) with a special hardening compound added", and that its meant for hanging only "This display piece is not designed to be worn, but is rather equipped with a hanging system for wall display.", and "with a weight of approximately 4 pounds and equipped with a sturdy wire hanger for wall display".

My only 'regret' after I bought it is that it was sold as a limited edition. (should have smelt a huge rat at that point :lol). It even came with a great looking certificate, numbered and all.

He says "Here is a special Limited Edition Loki Mask prop reproduction wall display." and "We have ordered 50 of the Loki Display Masks to offer exclusively on eBay."

More than 2 years or so down the line, the limited edition has become limitless :lol. In their feedback on eBay, someone complained about the mask, and the reply was

Whatever the case, for the price, I still think its a cool item to hang on the wall.

I don't have a "dog in this race" as they say but I am currently awaiting a delivery from Haunted Studio's so I thought I'd chime in...

I read through a seller's feed-back, especially if they are below 100% as is Kenpatterson of Haunted Studios. Seems the biggest complaint against them is the amount of time in shipping and I would have to agree...

They say in their auctions that many of a particular item they have "ready to go" yet, the reality is that they apparently wait until they get order's to actually make the product.
I waited one week before I made an inquiry about when the item would ship...and was promptly informed that it states in the auction "up to 10 business day's to ship."
My "one week" was actually three days as I was counting Saturday and Sunday but they have made it clear they intend to take all the time they possibly can before shipping out...
After waiting 10 business days and then inquiring again they told me my payment cleared later than expected so, while they were going to ship my item out that day, they were technically shipping out early!

Thats cool, i like the colour of your Mask MiamiLoco, but the mouth seems WAY too big... but it looks good none the less.

The Haunted Studios Mask i suppose is good if you want to display it but if you want a Loki Mask prop replica, its not really the way to go. But thats just my opinion!

Oh, by the way MiamiLoco, how did you manage to hang the Mask on the wall? Did you attach something to the back to pack it out or something??
Thanks

I bought the Hollywood Studios mask and it is better than you'd think.

What paints should I use to repaint?

Acrylics, working on a repaint of mine too.

Never been completely satisfied with it, will post pictures when its completed to my satisfaction! :)

Can anybody give me any pointers as to how to display my Loki Mask onto a wall??
I dont want to go drilling into it or anything, so can anybody help?

Thanks

Here is my Loki mask. I just got it in the mail last night. Then started painting. I think the nose piece thingy needs to be a bit darker, but I am happy with it for now. First without the gloss.

Then I added a coat of gloss.

That looks great, where did you get the mask from? That is the screen acurate cast and i havnt seen one about in a while. Good job!

This is what I got from the seller.

"It's probably got some lineage to an original, but is a 2nd or 3rd generation cast. It's thinner and a little smaller than my "cast from original" mask but the wood textures are identical. There's some significance to it having the "L" coin cast into the forehead, but I don't remember what. I think that was a separate piece on the original and is missing from some replicas."

Here is my Loki Mask i bought back in 2006 off ebay for about $40.
It was originally a creme color, due to the resin not being painted.
I was glad that it wasnt painted because that gave me the opportunity to do my own paint job and be nearly screen accurate. Although it is a very nice mask, there is a crack on the right side of the face trailing down through the eye and stopping at about the same point the nose ends. You can definitely tell it is taken from a mold because on the bottom of the chin there is a spot where a small hole is placed for (what i think) holding the mask in place for the mold. i'll have to upload more pics soon. I think when whoever made this mask, had like a 2 piece mold and then put them together, because there are obvious places that look like it was put together like a sidewalk, like i said, i will have to upload more pictures soon. ENJOY!
