Loki Masks

I don't know. Things may be fine... or the different brands may react badly with each other. You are basically left with the option of whether to risk it or play it safe - go with the same brand as the paint you used to paint the mask... that way you'll have less risk of a bad reaction.

The paint i used was for artists really (151 Artists), not a model paint and they dont make DullCote or any models products.
But i think i will take a risk and go with the Testors spray, we'll see how it goes!

:thumbsup

Keep us posted. If it works fine on your paints, then I may have to go get some to test out. I already need to test out future floor wax for the ultra gloss shine... so I got a few things to test! :thumbsup

Well the Testors Dullcote came today and i have to say it couldnt have turned out much better!!

The results are amazing!

It dulls the shine considerably and also seals the paint work (and gets rid of the sticky acrylic texture). I am VERY pleased with how it came out, pictures to follow! :D

Cool. Well... when acrylic is sticky... it's either not mixed properly or it is reacting to the surface of what lies beneath. I've heard before that a clear coat can stop the tackiness.

And the good part is that you can keep working, even after a layer of clear coat.

Oh right, it seems fine and the Dullcote really made it Matt look and smooth, very nice!

Here is what it looks like now!!

HUGE improvement dont you think!?

Im going to spray on another coat to even it out a bit and then work on painting the back of the Mask.

Also, frosty has kindly offered to send me some interferance paint for the back to give it a "glow" effect just like in the movie!! :D

So after 11 days, my Mask is FINALLY FINISHED!!

Here are some photos of the finished Mask, but these dont do it justice!

I want to thank frosty for sending me some interference paint for the back to give it a glowing/colour changing effect. Although it doesnt show up well on camera, you can just about make out the colour change on the last picture.

I dont think it could have turned out any better and i am pleased with the results!

Thanks for all your support and advice!

i'm glad it was usefull, its hard stuff to get right, i layer a ciouple of colours over one another, it really works better in person.

Looks good!
Thats the Haunted Studios one if i remember correctly, the one with the permanent hook?

I was just searching on eBay and found an ICONS LOKI MASK, one of the first replicas made and considering its previous selling prices and how rare they are, the price isnt TOO bad. Just too much for me!

Oh... no posting live auctions... you should remove the link. Only auctions allowed to be posted if there's suspicion of foal play. :cheers

But the fact that he's using the Propstore of London pictures and not new ones actually proving he has that mask seems a little fishy to me.

Your right, it is the Haunted Studios one with a paint job by me. I did purchase the ICONS LOKI MASK when it was advertised by ICONS, however I'm a victim of Latta & never got it along with several grand worth of other replicas that had been paid for!
