List perfect albums, start to finish...

...albums with no filler.

The Disturbed/Green Day thread got me thinking about how diverse people are on music and the weird range that I have (being a metal dude).

So, this should get everybody knowing each other just that little bit more. Some of us may find some new music to listen to as well!

Here comes some albums off the top of my head that I feel are perfect in what they set out to do, start to finish:

A Hard Day's Night - The Beatles

Revolver - The Beatles

Sgt. Pepper - The Beatles

Dark Side of the Moon - Pink Floyd

Metallica - ...And Justice For All

Metallica - Load

Kelly Clarkson - Breakaway

Fergie - The Dutchess

Sleigh Bells - Treats

NIN - Year Zero

Wow, typing that out does look weird, ha. Some blasphemy on there, I know, but i was very strict with my idea of perfect. I do not skip tracks on these records. I love Master of Puppets for instance, but the middle of the album can drag.

What are your perfect albums?

Here are some of mine. Yes, this journey will have some weird stops. (and is probably totally subjective)

Thirty Seconds to Mars - This Is War

Daft Punk - Discovery

Queen - Night at the Opera

Alphabeat - The Beat Is

Electric Six - Fire

La Roux - La Roux

Tom Petty - Into the Great Wide Open

How's that for eclectic?

U2 - Joshua Tree & Achtung Baby

GNR - Appetite for Destruction

Snow Patrol - Final Straw & A Hundred Million Suns

The Killers - Hot Fuss

MJ - Thriller

Garbage - Version 2.0

Panic! at the Disco - A Fever You Can't Sweat Out

The Cure - Galore

Tenacious D - I'm just sayin, I laugh my ass off every time I listen to that album. And I enjoy the music. Even after listening it to years I never skip a track. :)

Orbital - The brown album
Lowest of the Low - Shakespeare my butt
The tragically Hip - Day For Night
The tragically Hip - Phantom Power
The tragically Hip - Road Apples

Most Canucks will be familiar with the Hip (sorry if I left any out...) but I highly recommend these guys to anyone. Best kept secret in Canada.

Tool - Aenima
Therapy? - Troublegum
Weird Al Yankovic - In 3D
The Prodigy - The Prodigy Experience
Isis - Panopticon
Alice in Chains - Jar of Flies EP
Unsane - Visqueen
Soundgarden - Badmotorfinger

I can, and do listen to every one of those albums, start to finish in a sitting numerous times every year. Most of them monthly.

The Beatles - Abbey Road

Dan Fogelberg - The Innocent Age and Windows and Walls (I get this from my old man :lol)

Jack Johnson - In Between Dreams

James Taylor - That's Why I'm Here (also get this from pops)

Live - Throwing Copper

Metallica - Black Album (I know I'll catch **** for this but oh well)

Pearl Jam - VS

The Clash - London Calling
Blink 182 - Blink 182
Joe Strummer & The Mescaleros - Global a go-go
New Found Glory - Catalyst
The Hold Steady - Heaven is Whenever

Skinny Puppy: Cleanse Fold and Manipulate
Dropkick Murphys : Do or Die
The Cure: Mixed Up
The Sisters of Mercy:First and Last and Always
Hank III: Bootleg 1

Darkside of the Moon, of course.

Wish You Were Here (The Floyd follow-up to Darkside)

Who's Next.

Star Wars Soundtrack

Sgt. Pepper (I guess)

Hundred Year Hall (Grateful Dead Live)

A Night at the Opera (Queen)

An Evening with John Denver

Barry Manilow Live (yeah I said it). I got feelings too you know. Not many but still.

....and begrudgingly leaving behind the creepyness of the "artist", I'll go with Thriller. Because he made it before he turned the corner into a total wack-a-doodle.

Off the top of my head:

Guns 'N' Roses: Appetite for Destruction
Garbage: Version 2.0
Pearl Jam: Ten
30 Seconds to Mars: A Beautiful Lie
Pink: Funhouse
AC-DC: Back in Black
Queensryche: Operation Mindcrime

Metallica - Ride the Lightning
Van Halen - Van Halen
Yngwie Malmsteen - Odyssey
Metallica - Master of Puppets
Prince - Purple Rain
Pantera - Vulgar Display of Power

It's really hard to hit that perfect album. There are bands that I love that are not listed that I have to pick and choose songs from like Queen, The Temptations, Smokey Robinson, Daryl Hall and John Oates, Stevie Wonder, Elton John...I could go on for a few sentences here. The albums above I can listen to from start to finish and not want to skip one single song.
