woot. I am finally done
Here it is all taped off. I used Hammered metal rustolium for the bunt of the metal coloring.
For the melted part, I sprayed on some "mirrored glass" the stuff designed to be sprayed inside glass vases to make them look like "mercury glass"
It gave it that cool texture that molten metal gets when it cools
For the damaged areas I just sprayed some of the hammered paint into a lid and used a brush to drop it in the divots and let it pool or drip down the scratches.
I drilled three holes for each arrow since they are made with three dowels.
I used my brush again to drop paint into the holes. This ate away at the foam so that the glue I used for the arrows would have space to fill in and anchor
There was bleeding from the places where the tape crossed. I just took a sharpie and tapped out a bunch of dots where ever silver poked out.
Gave the whole thing a clear coat and letting that dry last night. This morning I taped it off again for painting the triforce. I know they are supposed to be yellow or gold.... But I went for GLOW IN THE DARK! Had to put down a whit base coat first. Might have been able to do yellow but no shop in town had anything but high gloss.
You cant see it in this picture but The glow paint didnt like being on top of the clear coat. since its in the middle of the curve of the shield, it didnt run but it pulled away from the middle slightly. I was worried the glow would be canceled out if I put the clear coat over it.
