Lifesize Yoda

Joe, I used the company that Kurtyboy found here in the UK http://www.glasseyes.com

No online ordering, so I ordered via the phone - they were good to deal with and the eyes arrived quickly / are good quality.

Well, I'm starting to airbrush tomorrow so the all-important choice of green awaits. I'm going to mix some acrylics tonight and see what I can come up with...::bites nails::

Couple more progress pics.

The green isn't finished - I'm going to add another brown wash over the top of this and hand paint some additional detail, but I think its getting there. Also no eyes, fingernails, cane still needs painted dark brown, he has no brown tunic on yet either...and of course, no hair yet. :

Thats one very nice lookin Yoda (^_^) all the hard work is really paying off.

And thanks for the eyeball info ob1al (~_^)

Hair, we have.

I'tll take me a little while to fiddle on with the hair until I'm happy but it's going in the right general direction:

EDIT: NEW PIC, fixed the eyes a little bit. :)

hi al nice work so far, the eyes are bothering me in the last shot, are they fixed in????, the left one needs to go up or the right one needs to go down, they are pointing in different directions

what hair are you using?

i'm gonna use goat hair from my local fishing shop, they use it to make flys apparently

:love

Hi mate

Well spotted on the eyes, I'll go fix that (they are only blu-tacked into position for the time being).

I'm using Reel FX theatrical hair (made by Rubies). The goat hair option sounds good.

Cheers

Al

hi al, oh if there only blu tacked in just ignore me, i thought they were fixed.

as for the goat hair, i picked it because it had that yellowish old man hair look about it , appologies to the old folk out there ;)

i had a look through the thread and cant see you mentioned what colours you came up with.

oh and i would say a thick cast is always better....from experience.

If I can make one suggestion, get a little darker green inside the crevace of the mouth, it will give it some depth. It's looking good though.

Thanks fellas - and thanks for the suggestion re. the mouth, I'll try that. :)

Yeah, I used a yellow ochre colour as a basecoat, it still shows through the various shades of green which went on later.

EDIT: Added a revised pic above with the eyes aligned a little better. ;)
