Lifesize Anubis Goddess Statue Sculpt

Hey Guys
This is my final project for my 3rd year of University.
I decided to make a statue based on a movie such as "The Mummy". I designed a statue of Anubis but a female wearing a mask of Anubis as opposed to a head of Anubis.

She is sculpted from clay over an armature and has taken 6 weeks so far. Im hoping to have her finished by friday and then she will be ready to cast. This is the first piece in this scale that ive attempted. She still needs work on her ears (im currently redoing them) and then smoothing down and hieroglyphs on her stomach. Her size is based on my friend who is 5'2 so the sculpt stands about 3.5ft from base to tips of the ears.

She will be finished in fibreglass and sprayed gold and will hold a Book of the Dead Scroll.

She is designed to be viewed from slightly above, so you cannot see her face straight away.

Id love to know what you guys think

Thanks
Wayne

Wow, very inspiring and breathtaking. I know that I'm going to come off as a freak for saying this, but I am impressed by the feet. Now I've just labled myself as the guy with a foot-fetish :::eyeroll::: Great job, I like it!

thanks guys! much appreciated
@breen2057: Thanks so much, i will keep this thread updated.
@DS Operative: dont be silly, i like the feet too, alot of people in class said they were cute

@Xingshen: thanks! Ive never used that process...what does it entail? Ive been told its very thin and wears of easily?

thanks

That's stunning. Do you have any photos of the production before this stage? I'm always fascinated by the entire process of sculpting.

Thanks Nikon, sure...dont say i didnt warn you, quite a few photos here. She changed slightly from the sketch

Ive edited the first post with earlier pics :)

I could only see the final sculpt before, so nice to see the build-up process too now. Really nice work there, and I'm sure it will look amazing in gold.

This thread just keeps getting better and better. Thank you so much for putting the extra WIP shots in. I'm starting to dabble in sculpting (I'm mucking about with Klean Klay at the moment) and it's so helpful to see how things like this are built up. I notice that there don't seem to be many tools in shot. Are you mostly working with your hands or are you just really tidy? :D

That's an interesting alteration to the character and marvelous execution. Very good anatomy and proportions. Well sculpted. :cheers

Hey Guys
Sorry about the long absence, ive been so busy trying to finish this
Ive managed to get a mould done and a cast. Ive cut the arms, ears and fingers off before moulding and ive cast those seperately. it was purely to make it easier to mould
Thanks
Wayne
