I haven't done any sculpting in a while - my Halloween costume took all of my free time (if you want to see my build, it's here: My Wolverine costume build - yellow suit from Deadpool & Wolverine).
But I had the idea to add a complimentary character that hopefully people may be interested in. Still very early - I didn't spend much time on it yet. It's mostly just roughed out, and I only consulted a few blurry reference pics, but I think the likeness is coming along:

UPDATE: Getting closer. I probably need to narrow his mouth, among other tweaks, but things are progressing well, I think. (edit: I also just noticed the eye on the right side is a little droopy, with the area beteen the eye & eyebrow being too flat.)

I actually used my last sculpt of Paul Newman as the base model for this. Even though the two actors bear no real resemblance to each other, it
was a big time saver.

More reference pics:

One word Benjamin: plastics!
If you're suggesting I do NECA heads for "The Graduate," well, I suppose crazier things could happen!

I thought he was saying it was the same actor, but that was Walter Brooke. Hamilton played Katherine Ross' father.

Your new images have messed my mind up way worse.

I am thinking of another actor, often a villain, oft with a bad Russian accent, but damn if I can remember a name, or even a character.

Gonna gnaw at me awhile!

Update: more progress pics. I'm debating whether to have him smiling, like when he's trying to reassure everyone things are fine, or more concerned looking. I suppose I could just make a couple different expressions, but I'm trying to think like a toy maker - what's the most representative look for a figure?

Update: I widened the jaw, brought out the chin, adjusted the areas above the eyes and between the eyebrows, widened the temples/forehead, adjusted the hair, nose, lips and ears. In some shots, his face looks thinner, but in others it appears wider with more pronounced jowls, but I think I'm getting closer. I've got some more work to do on the mouth, the lips looked better in the past version. I was trying to get it a little flatter looking, went too far I think. I adjusted the right nostril up too much as well.

Oh Bloop!!!! You're gonna do it to me aren't you!?!? You're gonna make me find a 1/9th scale Anchor suit jacket!!! LMAO

Since NECA has ended the JAWS line,....and probably themselves with the TMNT shipping problem,......
I got a list of characters for you, it's not a long list, lol

Ellen Brody
Deputy Hendricks
Quints Sidekick

Maybe....

A Young Steven Spielberg?

This is just Fantastic Bloop!!! Love your sculpting work!!!!

No 'JAWS' sculpt list is complete without a dead Ben Gardener head, ready for an underwater diorama with Matt Hooper. Best jump-scare in movie history.

When ShapeWays was open, I asked a guy to sculpt Chrissie Watkins after the shark attack. He followed the Hooper Autopsy description. I just don't remember the autopsy saying she had the crabs lol.

EDIT: I saw some changes that needed to be made in the last 20 minutes since I posted this, so instead of a new update, I deleted the original pics and posted new renders.

Update: I went through a couple versions since my last post. Not that there's huge differences between them, I just always save a new version when I start working on it again. I also adjusted the lighting a little, adding a lower light to the front so the bottom of the nose wouldn't be in as harsh of a shadow.
Again, lots of little adjustments - jaw, eyes, nose, ears, forehead, etc. The mouth was a priority and probably has the most visual change, which I'm happier with now. I adjusted the hair - I'm trying to find a balance between when it's wind blown in the outdoor scenes and when it's more in place.

I tried matching the eyes and mouth a little closer to this reference pic. The mouth is still different because I was going for more of a smile, but I may change it. It still needs some work, but it's closer:

Another update: I might be pretty much done. Instead of just eyeballing it, I lined up the reference pic from my last post and worked from there. I'm just noticing now that the mouth and lips in my last update looked kind of "old man/mummified." His right cheek was pretty sunken too, which didn't help. I think I have the expression where I want it now. I made more adjustments to the eyes, eyebrows and forehead, adjusted the face and nose width, tweaked the ears and hair. I feel good about the overall face shape and where things are in relation to others, so I might be finished, other than some details here and there.

I am Loving this Bloop!! Just like when you did Brody!! I'm serious now, I have to find an Anchor Jacket, or Striped Jacket and Pink button down. I told Filmzy what you were doing. She said, she'll have to build an Amity Ferry lol

Update: Some more edits, but finally getting ready to print. New eyeballs - the old ones were a part of the model, so whenever I sculpted the eye area, the eyeballs would get sculpted, so they weren't spherical anymore. I also opened up the eyes a little more, plus some tweaks here and there.

Here's a render with Blender's "Cavity" setting in the viewport shading, which overemphasizes the depth and details. It's kinda useful to see models this way:

And with the neck removed, for use with the NECA figures (with wireframe overlay):

(EDIT: I just noticed that the ear on the left is smaller than the one on the right, so I'll be adjusting it as soon as I can).

That'd be awsome! Side note: I bought a couple more cheap NECA figures to use for making displays and testing new heads, one of which is an Elvira figure so I can start trying to make females. I had an idea to try continuing the Jaws series and make an Ellen Brody/Lorraine Gary head (not sure if/when I'll start it).

You are the man!! You do know NECA lost the JAWS License. So that line is dead, but with your additions it's still alive! Believe it or not......I've got two Neca figures dressed and half ready as Mayor Vaughn, I just need the Anchor Jacket and the Striped Jacket...and of course the head lol. I need to dye one of the dress shirts pink, but i've got the pants, shoes, shirts, and ties.
Ellen Brody and Deputy Hendricks and BatGuys suggestion of Ben Gardeners Head. All Great ideas to keep you a busy man lol. Said it once i'll say it again, Love your work Bloop!!

Latest (possibly final) renders:

I had to redo the eyes again - no real change to the renders here, but the .stl files for printing showed they were too low poly and needed smoothing (their appearance in Blender was due to them being smooth shaded in the render, but still low poly in the mesh). Other changes include evening the ears (as mentioned in my last post), widening the chin and a little of the surrounding face, rounding out the nose a bit (it was a little too flat and pointy from the side), filling out a flat spot on the upper forehead and tweaks to the forehead and eye areas.

I started a test print (which is going right now), but that was before a lot of these tweaks, so I'll be re-printing it. I hope to get pics of the (hopefully) final product soon.

Print pics: I printed on my AnyCubic Photon M3 in white AnyCubic plant-based resin which photographs badly, but I edited the images to try to bring out the detail. Once I get some paint on it, it'll be much easier to see, but the print looks good so far.

I didn't do any prep yet, like removing any support nubs...I probably won't sand much, since it loses detail. The paint will help hide any layer lines, though you have to look close to even see them. I'll try to get it painted asap, and I'll be putting it up for sale over on CGTrader with my other heads. I may also offer a two-pack deal of Brody and Vaughn together.
