Licensed Pulse Rifle pre-order

According to the e-mail I got while asking some questions, the PayPal requests will be going on on the 13th and/or 14th of this month.

Redeye- I might be confusing you with someone else, but don't you live in Canada?

With our ban on replica weapons aren't you worried it might get seized at the border?

Kevin

I'm hoping not... but they said they ship international... if they didn't they would only have USA on there shipping. I have had Master Replica Stormtrooper, Rebel trooper, and Han Solo blasters shipped with no problems. But had a problem with a holster coming across the border... so go figure. Yes... I do live in Canada.

I think it's all a matter of packaging maybe?? If they see a standard brown box with questionable contant in it, they seize it. However, if the brown box contains a full color box from a known collectible toy company, shipped from a warehouse, they're a bit more likely to let it go through.

I'm just talking out of my butt, as I have no knowledge in this area, but it seems likely.

Isn't this the same company that botched the Fifth Element gun?

Bad electronics? Misshapen castings? Wrong dimensions?

Sorry no pre-order for me. I gotta hold one first. If that means I miss out, so be it.

And yes, you have to be able to cycle a round through the launcher and the counter must work, or no sale.

They also made good on the issues though. To my knowledge they replaced many blasters without asking for anything to be returned.

I don't have any issue with HCG, and I'm happy as can be to see a company putting out licensed prop gun replicas. I just can't afford the damn thing, even with the payment plan.

:angry

As far as features of the PR here is my take. Every component has been found or replicated to screen / idealized accuracy. Except for metal shrouds. A lot of us PR builders would have paid $899 just for the metal shrouds, that was the make it or break it feature.

We over at the Aliens Legacy board have had an informal back and forth suggestion with HCG via one of our members. Their price point was always going to be under $1,000, our sticking point was always metal shrouds. From the photos it appears that they have done an excellent job with the piece and display rack. I would have loved to have additional features as others had mentioned already, but that would have upped the cost and discouraged potential buyers.

even so.... for the price, to uprgrade those features yourself.... It really is a steal lol

Christian

Still looking it over so I don't have much commentary other than this. Fellas. If you decide to buy it, please be sure to check out the PR of month on mah site, first. I'm not saying why. It's just the right thing to do. Thank you. That is all. :D

Propstore is the best bet.

Don't see it listed at Propstore. Is it worthwhile all UK buyers purchasing together and sharing shipping costs - or would that only make it worse with customs? Also, what's the duty going to be on this thing if it does get stopped but let through?

If it's anything like the Korban Dallas pistol, it's gonna be a booger to modify.

Even if that does happen with this run, it's still a phenominal price. I'm already planning on modding mine to accept light and sound, which will be very simple with all the room inside the metal shrouds. I'd pay the $900 just for an unassembled raw pull of this gun

What do you think our chances are?

I've ordered airsofts from England in the past; never had any trouble there... or was I just lucky? Were the customs guys on holiday that day? I wouldn't want a $900 PR getting nabbed by them.

I would'nt personally be too worried about it (sure have placed the order :p) as airsoft is legal here and many people get airsoft guns shipped in from US, Asia, UK etc with the only real problem being the the charges. Airsoft are replicas once they are under 1J and this is a replica which cant be made to fire so they have no reason not to let it in.

Hopefully those of us who have ordered with 4/6 pay for the OD actually get it if the invoices have not been sent out yet to us.

with regards to airsoft and replica guns for re-enactment, you have to be a member of a club, and be able to prove this. So im not sure if these will get stopped and require you to prove you are a in a group?

However if the propstore are selling them, then they will already be in the UK wont they?

As far as I understand, Propstore of London (UK) will be importing these to sell and ship through their UK office, so there should be little concern to the purchasing British individual.

I'll alert Mr. Propstore of LA to this thread so he can weigh in with the definitive ruling.

Here's a slightly disheartening e-mail I received, but certainly not a deal breaker for me. My questions on top, her e-mail response below:

What parts other than the shrouds (if any) will be aluminum? Also, will a movable trigger be included, and will the LED numbers count down when the trigger is pressed?

~Aaron

Hi Aaron,

At the moment I don't have that information, but please write back again soon and I should have that handy. I am aware however that the numbers do not count down as they are static in the movie, they will be still on this replica.

Have a great day!
