Lewis Gun Auction From SW Preliminary Pilot

I was skeptical of this item right off the bat, but as time goes, my belief is growing and growing. As I figured there was no way LFL would be working on the series in any form without fan knowledge, but then it occured to me... there IS fan knowledge. It was annoucned that there may or may not be a SW in the making... therefore SOMETHING must be happening with it. Very few TV or film productions can be traced back to where they very first started, and thats sounds like what this is. I think what is causing so much doubt in some people is the lack of information, especially from robstyle - the one selling the item. But he has said all he can say. Since the whole idea of the SW series is so vauge at this point, I'd bet most interested parties would buy this item more for the gun replica than the SW prop. Given rob's reputation here, I doubt he'd go through all this trouble to scam someone, especially with an item so many people are questioning anyway.

I agree, once a member with the reputation of RobStyle steps up to the plate it adds validity to this piece and it's history.

Thank you for shedding light on this obviously controversial subject Rob.

I can not comment on the preliminary pilot which is what the hub bub seems to be about.[/b]

Can you verify whether the production was proof of concept experimentation or an actual dramatic pilot? It actually does make a pretty big difference and ought to be clarified in your next auction.

This talk of the production would never out source is absurd. The OT weapons were all outsourced, if not completely, then in some form.[/b]

To be fair that was more than a quarter of a century ago. LFL outsources minor work (commercials and so forth) but the entirety of the prequel trilogy was done in house. It would be a fairly major development if LFL began outsourcing this sort of thing for its major projects in this era.

Very nice weapon.

Wow....didn't intend a sh.tstorm to flare up...

Either way, thanks to Rob for the explanation and very cool that you're involved to that degree.
If I had $800 US to blow and could get that Lewis into Canada, I'd buy it.
