Less common Space:1999 prop

I'm finishing up two Space:1999 costumes for Halloween (Season 1)

However, they really have no pockets at all. I put tiny flat pockets on the inside of the belts- that will let us carry ID, a credit card or a few bucks- but what do we do with car keys? Or a camera? What if my girlfriend really wants to bring more than just an ID?

So I decided to build another prop that would match, to carry stuff in. There is a 1st season episode (The Guardian of Piri) where Martin Landau carries a flat white case with a clear strap down to the planet with him. The version seen on TV was actually made out of solid polystyrene, with taped on stripes and 'Letra set' numbers and letters. For my version, I made a simple wooden box.

This is a definitely a 'costume' prop, not a collectible, but it will hopefully look good enough to do the trick!

Looks great!

Just what you need to carry those pesky non-canon items!

Obscure, yes.

Clever and cool, absolutely.

Please post pics of your costumes when finished.

Awesome! :D

I am also reminded that Helena carries a transparent plastic shoulder bag in "A Matter of Life and Death"

Kind of a Moonbase Alpha "swag" bag. :lol

i bet you could sell a ton of those vacuumed..Looks great

Really? Honestly I'm going to be pretty happy if 15% of people even recognize the costumes...

But if someone wanted to do a run, I'd be happy to loan out the prop (after the Halloween party!)

Well it's unusual for one. Everything else in the " Hero" prop world has been done 40 times. You might could just sell sets of the stickers. With the tutorial you have just adding general measurements would help builders.
I have a majority of the cast autographs and I hope to one day frame them with a stun gun and other props. so you never know if the price is reasonable.

That sounds more than possible - I saw a movie/show once where they used 1 inch video tape reel cases as briefcases of the future...
