Limited Run Leia and Chewie ANH brass handcuffs

In the next few days,
I'll be running an hopefully final QC pass on the run, make sure everything is ok.
Then I'll be getting in touch with all people on the Leia list for payment. Payment goes through my website:
www.supergreenprops.com
to save a bit of time and be ready, if you don't already have an account on the website, please create one and most importantly, please set up your shipping address as well. It's a separate step inside your account, I mention it everytime, but the message never really goes through for some reason. If I haven't contacted you yet and you just created your account, feel free to send me a PM here letting me know your real name. Once I have all this, I can create a private pre-filled cart and send it over to you by email for payment.

Well, now comes the fun part, there are a couple things to address this time around.

The Darn Trump Tariffs!
well, it seems this time we are not avoiding it. If I understand correctly, they have now validated a 15% tariff for EU imports, and most importantly, I think they are removing the de minimis 1rst of September. This has all been very stressful to follow and very hard to understand as it was changing all the time, so far it was not impacting me, but the de minimis supression will be a big pain now. Please stay with me! I'll work with you through PM to make is as painless as possible, thank you for your understanding :)

Shipping options,
For outside Europe, by default, you should get a 30€ (small package option) shipping charge for this prop (it's 600g!) when you receive the invoice, you'll have a drop down menu normally, and if you want, you can change that shipping to the more expensive 44.4€ (Colissimo option). International shipping has become pretty slow this year, this is worldwide and there is sadly nothing I can do. I'm happy that the small package option still allows me to be competitive, however, it has become realtively slow, up to 15 days sometimes. The Colissimo option is normally suposed to be faster 4 to 8 days. Think of it as first class and priority basically. This is completely your choice, I know it's expensive, I'm sorry, and I'm happy to use any option that you'll choose. Within Europe is cheaper with Colissimo than small package, it's normal, small package is a worldwide fixed price, stay with Colissimo if you are in Europe.

You can normally add other items from the website into your cart when you receive the email, I have seen customers do it already. There is still room into the weight category to add a few things without adding shipping costs. If you can't manage to add stuff, just let me know what you want and I'll add it to the private cart and send it over again, no worries :)

I think that's all,
thank you all so much for your patience during this run
cheers

Since you won't have access to the actual listing on the website as it will be done privately, to avoid people that are not on the list coming and sniping your reserved prop, the photos that will be used on the website are the ones I posted above, and here are the important disclaimers I have to post for that project:

A few disclaimers, I'm sorry as I normally don't really do that with other projects, but there are a few particularities this time and I want to be clear upfront. I hope you'll love your prop though, It's was an actually labour of love and pain and I'm really proud of the result.

- this is absolutely not an idealized prop, it is made from raw brass tubes like the original prop. The handcuffs have bumps, scratches, oxidation. When buying that prop, you have to be ok with this, I have tried my best all along the project to show how it was made and what it looked like, I have depicted the props as honestly as I could with the photos and I hope the flaws are obvious and should be part of the appeal of the prop. If you see those as issues, I'm sorry to say this prop is not intended for you. I won't be taking returns because the brass is raw, please understand this, it is a very raw, un-idealized, weathered prop that looks as close as possible to the real prop :)

- there are pointy edges everywhere, I have broken them down a little bit so they are not sharp, but to keep the final prop as close as possible to the original, and have clean lines and clean fit between all the parts, everything is still pretty pointy. Please be carefull when handling the prop, and please never apply excessive force to close the clasps for instance, your fingers could skid and get injured relatively badly, I can't be held responsible for this! If the clasps is hard to close, be calm and meticulous, wiggle the parts a little bit while trying to put them back together until it works. They have all been tested many times and are a bit tight on purpose so the mecanism can hold by friction, but they all work very well :)

- this prop is functional, but it is mainly intended for display purposes and to be handled occasionaly, it is not intended as a cosplay - or bedroom - item, two reasons, pointy edges mentioned above, and durability. I certainly hope the prop will last a lifetime and I think it's pretty tough, however, it's still held together by small brass screws that could break over too much stress, and the clasps are pressure fit, so it's possible opening and closing them a hundred time will wore down the fit over time. I would say, do not abuse it, it is still a collector item most of all. What honestly worries me more is the screws as their durability is unpredictable, but in case the clasps would become loose, it is still possible to carefully clamp the clasp in a small vice and bend the stainless steel rod a tiny bit to add more pressure to the fit. This has to be done very carefully though!

- oh, one more thing! The stainless steel rods for the clasps have a straight knurl and are pressure fit with my mill vice, with a drop of super glue inside the hole. I really hope they won't fail, there was no other way that I could think of, so I hope they will hold. If one fail, i'm so sorry, please try to re-attach it the same way, a drop of super glue and something to press it together, or push it against a hard surface very strongly. Use a piece of paper to avoid marring the brass when applying pressure to it. Or if you figure something better, soldering or something if that is possible, I don't really know.

Alright! here are the final color pics for a random pair of Leia handcuff :)
Like I said above, I tried 3 times before managing to get relatively decent photos, and I hope the quality is good enough to be an honest representation of the prop and really show what they look like, in all their glorious raw look, brute design, bumps, scratches and oxidation!
This is what the people on that run are buying, there is no idealization, the handcuffs are reproduced as close as possible to how they were originaly made, they are pretty raw and weathered and they are as functional as the original prop, meaning, this is a very basic but difficult to achieve friction closing design and I had to make everything a bit tight so it holds perfectly together while being functional. They have all been tested and opened/closed 20 times during the run, and athough there is a bit of a habbit to take, mostly to close them, they work beautifuly. I hope everyone will be carefull and gentle though because there are definitely a lot of pointy edges!
I sincerely hope you'll like the handcuffs, I know that this has been made clear already with all the time it took and all the photos I posted of the process, but this has been a real labour of love and pain, and although worried as with any project I have finished, but more so because of the weathered raw props and how they will be received this time, I'm very proud of the final result. I was really happy with my run of Barbican sabers last year and they were also pretty damn complex, but I think this might be my favorite achievement so far and I'll be so happy to see those on your shelves. Definitely something we have not seen before!
cheers all :)
