BTW, I'll be opening an interest thread for the spats soon - real leather and hand stitching. The spats will be made of a thicker leather so that it maintains it's shape when wrapped around the calf - the knee guard and shoe cover will be thinner so that it will bend more.

Okay, we're almost there. The mold for the buckle is done and I cast a test one in cheap resin and painted it. The design is good, so just need to dye and stitch the remaining pieces. Very happy with how it's turning out. I'm hoping this is going to be an official run by the end of the week.

I've updated the first post with some changes. The DIY kit has changed a bit since I'm doing this myself. I won't be providing the needles or dye, but the leather will be pre-dyed for you as well as "sheened" (coated to give it a shine). I also won't be polishing and weathering the rings or buckle, this is to be able to turn out the DIY kits faster and because my costs are higher since I don't get the discounts that my ex-partner did. The needles are cheap and polishing the rings and buckle only requires some fine steel wool and a few minutes.

New teaser picture. Almost there. I haven't opened the run because I'm putting the belt together with the existing pattern and making changes on the fly. I want to make sure that when I do start taking money, I can work on the belt 100% without having to make adjustments. I have most of the day to work on this tomorrow, so I'm still on target for opening the run and taking deposits this weekend. Stay tuned!

So here is the prototype. There is still one piece that needs to be dyed and stitched, but the belt is complete otherwise. I'll begin work on this run on Saturday, so I am declaring that this run is officially open. PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU READ THE FIRST POST FOR ALL DETAILS.

I'm going to go ahead and open this run up rather then work top down from the interest list. Belts will be completed on a first pay, first served basis in runs of at least 4 a month.
