Leander's - Iron Man Mark IV (Hinges explained P4)

Re: Leander's Ironman..!! (Picture Heavy)

Here some before pictures:

This is the sideview with 1 layer Paverpol and 1 Layer resin on the outside (both transperant so maybe hard to see) (My kitty is happily purring at the progress..!!)

This is what I will be doing now.. I'll bondo the inside along the red line.. so I can dremel the outside lateron without damaging the fiberglass.

fun picture with the helmet in this state over my lamp..!!

Bondo'ed pictures lateron... maybe even fiberglasses

Re: Leander's Ironman..!! (Picture Heavy)

Part of the helm is bondo'ed and fiberglassed.. will work on pepping the chestpiece now.. more updates when I have them.

Re: Leander's Ironman..!! (Picture Heavy)

hey, me again. looks great, i have one helmet peped and fiberglassed but it wasnt accuret enough for my taste to bondo and such. so i peped another and it was way too big, gearing up to make my third one today. hopefully this one will be good enough to take it all the way. just saying i know your pain and fear with messing it up. looks like your doing great though

Re: Leander's Ironman..!! (Picture Heavy)

Got a thread here Stark? would love to see your progress..!!

Helmet seems to dry up nicely.. got some airbubbles under my glassfiber.. I think I'll drill some small holes in them and fill them with resin once it has completely hardenned. Other then that I think bondo first on the inside where I am going to drill the lines was a good idea.

Helm has another layer which I think is the last one.

pepping the chestpiece while I'm waiting for it to dry.

i dont have a thread, i didn't want to attract any attention to my helmet till i had all the pieces at least pressed out of steel and i began welding it together.

but as that process is very slow I'm going to be starting a just fiberglass one today, so maybe ill make a thread. being that I'm just making a helmet i don't know if its worth a whole thread, I'm nothing special. i just want to bust out a helmet to have a good prop to keep me motivated on the steel one and maybe ill use it for Halloween lol idk. :$

so im heading to the laser soon to get all my pep pieces cut, hope I'm crafty enough to do it right, I'm afraid it will get distorted going between so many programs

Re: Leander's Ironman Mark IV

Feel free to post pictures here if you need any help or advice, I don't mind.
good luck with the laser I am sure you can do it.!

Re: Leander's Ironman Mark IV

UPDATE:

I've pepped the Brace and the chestpiece,

The brace doesn't seem to fit over my head. So I think I need to scale it but I've heard about seperating the brace in 2 over the shoulder.. anyone can confirm this of explain how?

Here is a result of the chestpiece pepped..

P.S. the chest looks crooked but that's just cause I had troubles having it stand up.

Re: Leander's Ironman Mark IV

yeah working on some references want to make clear that it's an Mark IV Arc- Reactor not III, I think this is a good reference picture.

Re: Leander's Ironman Mark IV

hey leander!!..i've heard that you want to build a bust, is that true?...because i built a pepakura bust...i found it over the net...it's a pdo file...check out mi thread and let me know what you think

regards

Re: Leander's Ironman Mark IV

based on your image im not sure which one your making, is that shot from 2 or 1?

Re: Leander's Ironman Mark IV

since your building a whole suit, i dont know if you have acsess to a laser since your ID too (im using the one at school) , but thats the way to do pep. wow, i even got all the fold lines perferated. just add glue, it would easily cut your pep time in half or better, and would be a more accurate result.

Re: Leander's Ironman Mark IV

yeah cutting takes most of my time.. I'll have to inform if we have a lasercutter but I think we do.

That shot is the 2nd arc reactor from the 1st movie so it's actually the Mark III Arc-Reactor but I think the III and IV are the same, aren't they?

Re: Leander's Ironman Mark IV

Always nice to meet new (Dutch) people.
can't wait to see more pictures of it. I will post my progress on the rest of my gear as well. I'm attending the EFF with my girlfriend and a friend but i have only designed my own stuff yet. I'll probably give on of them my mando armor since it was a bit to big for myself and my friend is quite a lot bigger :p.
anyway good luck, i will follow this with great interest
