Latex Masks going Old ?

Hi Guys and girls.

Well as i wrote in another topic i could not get my Monstermaker paint to stick to my DB1 sigh.

After i cleaned it ( as best as i could ) it did not look to good .
Anyways i bought some 99 % alcohol and some citrid acid and cleaned it with.
After i done that i repainted a basecoat with monstermaker latex paint and the result was the same it just came of grrr .
So thats one DB1 down the drain im affrid.

Now the problem could be that i filled some areas of the mask with hard foam thats used on construktions but i really cant tell.

My question is How loong does it take for a Latexmask to go old ?
I have a ton of unpainted masks that im really worried about now hehe

Maby a solution is to clean and basecoate the whole bunch untill i get the time to paint them ?

Thx for your answers it will be greatly appreciated

/Jimmy

go to gamesworkshop and get some paints that would be the pred's color that you want to paint, if you don't have the store near by then order the paints online since they also have international services on the web. but you would have to get the paints in slightly large quantities cuz their kinda small. when you're done painting, cover it in a couple layers of school glue that dries clear and you got a pretty descent mask i'll post some pics on how mine turned out when my camera charges

hehe Hia mate

Thx for the answer my friend but it was really not what i was asking about

Im wondering how long a latexmask will keep in its raw form ,, untill it gets to old and make it difficult for the paint to stick.

As for the GW paints i have painted GW stuff since 86 and just stopped a year ago ;)
I really like Vallejos colors better for miniature painting

Kind Regards

I've painted masks that have been stored for over a year with no problem, i give them a good clean with isopropyl alchohol first.
When basing masks out i use a brush and sponge, and either pax or latex based paint i mix myself ,
Never tried there paints.
What exactly is happening to the paint, is it not sticking or beading up on the surface?

Hia

No its not sticking to the mask i could just peel it of.
I suspect it might have something to do with the fact that i used hard foam you know the one that comes in a spraycan thas used for sealing windows and such.
I might have handled the mask badly when i did it and by accident smeared some on the mask and that might cause the problem.
Anyways i basecoated 2 masks today with Monstermaker latexand the paint sticks just fine

Ill try to get Art to make me another DB1 as this one is beyond saving

Kind Regards
