Largest TOS Galileo model ever... wait- IT'S THE REAL THING!!!

Someone out there will find it.
AND, if eventually not, someone will rebuild it brick for brick using the old specs.
It's not gone forever, just in hibernation.

Got to tell you guys when I first came to Hollywood in 74 I had this friend that had many of the original props and tunics from the show. Greg Gein later got them. But in his front yard was...yes the shuttle. The real deal. Turns out the studio was going to dump it and he raised the funds from his family to have it moved to Palos Verdes California. It sat there for many years slowly rotting away until the home owners made him move what they thought was an eye sore.

Over the years I lost touch with Roger but I did have the chance to sit inside her before she was too far gone.

I'll never forget it.

Hell Max come out here next year and we'll build a 1:1 and make it a media event! LOL!

Here you go guys. I think this is from the day Paul Gentry and I went up there. It was either 74 or 75. She's in worse shape than I had remembered. The doors still opened and we went inside. There were still some bits in there but not much. This is how the studio treated her. Just left her to rot.

Thanks for this bit of never-before-seen photographic history, Steve! I REALLY appreciate it!
I love that little ship.

Thank you for posting those. Its always great to see new photos even if they make you sad to see the condition she was in. Any other interesting memories of it?

Wow that's really sad, it's like she died twice :(

Since the original was built in Phoenix, I say make it here.

We might even be able to use the same space the original was made in.
Now I need an address.

Besides moving my tools is a very expensive prospect.

Re: Largest TOS Galileo model ever... wait- IT'S T

Max I might be able to get this funded. I have been asked to head up the restoration of the 11.5 original for the 50th. It's a campaign right now but if it succeeds the next thing was to restore the shuttle but that's not possible any more so this would be the next best thing.

WOW! Steve I can't think of anyone more perfect for the job. Here's to hoping you get it and that the big E gets restored the way she should be.

If you do get the job I'm hoping you will document it on video like you are doing your own build!

We could make it better than the original. I don't think it would be all that difficult. Steel frame fiberglass body, even an interior can be added. But you would need a good sized space to build it(which is something I don't have, or one would be underway, the 11 footer doesn't take up that kind of room:lol). Another thing that is needed is a truck sized paint booth.

I do have another question, does anybody have the address where the shuttle was made in Phoenix?
