I have no dog in this fight but even apart from the clearly suspiciou/nutty behavior by this vendor, the photos (apart from that nice-looking neck) look like absolute garbage—like a bad 3D print or something. I look forward to footage of the molds being burned.

Agreed. I don't have a dog in the fight either, but the pictures I've seen are NOT confidence inspiring, to say the least. See Vidar 710's work on his Lunar Models Excelsior for how it's done right.

ALEX "Note to self, check out Vidar's post, download photos, then post them on FB as updates of my own. That should keep those suckers busy for a while. Hehehe."

They list the following email on the EAD website: sales@epitome-ad.com

I have several emails from this email from the past few months. I sent them an email requesting a refund and it came back as a mailer daemon and could not be sent.

Plus still no photos on their new updates section on the home page. When I originally saw the new section, I thought isn't that what the forum was for? They just keep stringing us along, look here, there.... and oh everywhere. :rolleyes::mad:

I feel so stupid for falling for this as Alex/EAD scramble to run this scheme.

Don't feel stupid. Alex/OpticsJedi (guess we'll never see him again) is a master at this kind of con. I was hoping it was real as well but decided to wait for someone to get one first to report on the quality.

Seriously though, my sympathies for anyone who got taken. I sincerely hope for a miracle and Alex is just the worst ever at customer service and interaction. And deadlines. (Not holding my breath on that though).
 
Well, I just can't believe he had the nerve to actually speak to some of us via phone knowing what he was secretly up to. Funny this is, when I first heard about this and saw the kit's pre-order page, when I saw that big easy models was involved, that should have been the first red flag. 1 year or so ago, I purchased a light kit from them for the round2/Polar lights 1/350 Refit. Months went by with the same type of excuses that Alex has been giving (injuries, illnesses, ect) until they just stopped replying. As I purchased it off Ebay, I reported it to them and when they were unable to resolve it, they refunded my money. Someone else took over the company shortly after that if I remember. I was surprised to see them involved with Alex's kit, but I foolishly trusted him/them.

I am holding the slightest, tiniest hope that we will still get the kit, in whatever form that may be, but as each day passes with still no current or updated pic, this tells the true story.

t2sides, please do no beat me up too much for my minuscule hope for this kit, I am only human.

I predict that by weeks end the website will have closed and died. If that happens, I will take it up with Paypal credit as they have a anti scam policy that I can possibly report to and try to get my money back.

Thank God for Round2's recent re-modeling of the old 1/1000 kit. I will probably just pick that kit up someday soon.

I do plan on contacting Round2 to beg them to produce a 1/537 Excelsior kit as it is no bigger that the 2 1/350 Enterprise kits. I will tell them of this scam in hopes of appealing to their soft side. One can hope.
 
WOW, just wow. What a joke. Who knows who's model that really is. So pathetic! :rolleyes:

Why in the heck is he sending you old photos?? Did you ask him?
 
Not that he will ever reply, but over on the EAD site, I IM'd him copying and pasting the first line of his lie about ....daily updates...... as of today 4/11/22 and asked really, then where are the updated pics? Only time will see if he replies.

I would start throwing bricks in the Grand Canyon, you have a better chance at an effect there sooner....
