Lando Wrist Comm FOUND PARTS

looks like a clear window over some stuff for the main display! (also, I own the book too, what have I been doing haha)

I love this book, it's come in handy too many times to count! And yes it looks like maybe small bubble strips?? Maybe I'm crazy.

Time to jump back into this! I believe got the small lense for the bottom of the wrist comm from a Perma Matic 618 camera when i started my X-wing control stick build forever ago. and the 9-bubble bubble strip from Tom back when I started this thread. Both parts look to be the correct size and shape when compared to reference photos, but if anyone finds anything closer let me know!

Whoa!!!! Maybe... maybe this WAS the source for the x wing piece. The lens on set just seems thicker

Anyway this is super cool!

Have you seen the bubble lense for the control stick in person? Its pretty thick, significantly more so than I originally thought. I'll post a picture of my control stick keypad in a bit so you can see. Im 100% confident that was the provider of the bubble lenses for that prop specifically, and this build just provides further evidence of its likely use in the star wars prop department

Had to upload these before the upgrade tonight on the forums... found these in Brandon Alingers “Star Wars Costumes- The Original Trilogy” book earlier. Definitely confirms which arm it is on and the colors involved..

It looks like they dressed this mannequin with the wrist communicator on the wrong arm. The OP photo and the screengrab (flipped) show the wrist communicator on the arm opposite the chest insignia. The bubble strip is also supposed to be on the side furthest from the thumb - not the one closest to the thumb.

Yes they placed it on the wrong arm on the mannequin, and misplacement of costume pieces on display happens often with things like this. The important thing is that we know for sure what it looks like unflipped ;)

Got some time, and finally started building the main body today... Feeling like I've got the size and shape pretty spot on and the greeblies fit on here perfectly.. still need to find my resin dental expanders so I can try that on here. once the red groove above the "screen" is filed into the main body, then I will proceed to sand down the obvious bevel along the sides of the wrist comm.

This is some good scratch building

Am i crazy or is there a layer under the plexi?
Thanks bud. There is definitely a layer under it. I'm 100% clueless as to what it is though! To be honest, I will just be making a printed decal with that design to go under the plexi. This will allow the room for if I want to add an led or two into the mix later

Any ideas on the strip with the gold bars on it?

But those pictures show the wrist thing on the same side as Lando's chest badge. The movie, flipped or not, has it on the arm opposite his chest badge. That also doesn't show the diagonal strap Lando has in that scene.

The strip of little yellow rectangles are 12 individual LEDs.
They were also used on ROTJ on one of the Carbonate panels.
If you search Ebay for "yellow rectangular led', you'll find these:
