Hey everyone!
So for the launch of Thor 2, the charity group my wife and I work with (Project Hero) did a clothing drive out at our local AMC Theater. Jackie(my wife) really wanted to do a Lady Loki, so as she tackled the costume I worked on the head piece.
I started with a peped horn from a Loki helmet file that I filled with Fast Foam 320.

From there I sanded the horn into a thinner, more feminine shape. Jackie and Paul (our Thor) had both decided that they wanted to look more Norse and less Space God with their costumes, so I tried to shape the horn to look like bone.

We were short on time, so after skinning the foam in resin I did a quick and dirty brush on mold with some Rebound 25 and a Plasti-Paste shell.

I didn't get pics of the next parts, after some trial and error I found the best way to cast the horns and keep them light weight was to slush a super thin coat of resin in the mold, and let it pool in tip. After that I back filled it with more Fast Foam 320. The rest of the head piece was built out of 2 thickness of eva foam with an abs backplate. The horns are both epoxied on and have a small screw going through backplate into the base. Once assembled the headpiece was sprayed painted gold and weather with acrylic paint.

A couple of pics from the event

After watching the movie Jackie decided it wasn't dirty enough, so she went back for a second round of weathering

Let me know what you think!
