Ladies can be Iron Man too (everything but the shoulders, pg 35)

Re: Ladies can be Iron Man too (kinda pic heavy)

so... anyway, Great start on your Iron Man project , keep going !

Re: Ladies can be Iron Man too (kinda pic heavy)

Are you going to cast the parts or just wear the originals?

Re: Ladies can be Iron Man too (kinda pic heavy)

Nice job Cardboard king! Oh, and that Ironman Helmet that Laam made is pretty good too ;)

Re: Ladies can be Iron Man too (kinda pic heavy)

heres a little tip which will make your bondo work easier....

get some acetone and a chip brush, then when you are applying the bondo, load your brush with acetone and you can "paint" the bondo smooth which will drastically reduce the about of sanding you will have to do.

I might already know what this is, but maybe not by this name. But what is a Chip brush? This would help out greatly!!!!!

Thanks

Re: Ladies can be Iron Man too (kinda pic heavy)

Chip brushes are the cheap kind you can get at Wal-Mart or Home Depot. They come in a bag of about 5 of them, all different sizes. I call them "throw away brushes".

I'm gonna steal that acetone trick! :)

Hey folks,
if you wonder why the post count of a few of the "contributors" in this thread went down, and why there´s a lil´ less nothingness in this thread, then just tell yourself that this is the "reader´s digest"-version of the thread. And that this is possibly an hommage to CardboardKing re: slimmin´ things down a little to look good at the beach ;)

So, can we please really get this back on topic? I always click on this thread to see if there´s been an update *ahem*, but the only new things I see are old jokes and re-posted pics :/

We can´t have this kind of disappointement around this time of year again and again !!!

Thanks,
Michael

If the testosterone on this thread didn't scare her off, my inappropriate PMs did.

Re: Ladies can be Iron Man too (kinda pic heavy)

How about no more posts that aren't about the armor until the OP posts something, eh?

Anyway, keep up the good work on the Iron Man helmet, it was coming along very nicely, and I can't wait to see more progress on it as I can tell from the pictures of how well you applied bondo, that it should come out very nice, and she be a lot easier to sand then any of mine ever were. One more word of advice, be careful how had you press or you may sand through a pat that isn't as strong as the others and be stuck with a hole in the helmet, which can be fixed by applying bondo on both sides and sanding it by hand instead.

WOW.

okay D: lots and lots to reply to soooooo

1: Didn't have any clue that picture would cause THAT much of a stir, I sort of just tacked in on for fun you know? For those of you worried I was somehow run off by all of the supposedly lewd comments on here, no worries. I'm hardly offended, I have to admit I'm not exactly used to this sort of attention

2: for those concerned for my safety thank you so much <3 like I said, I didn't expect such a reaction and didn't feel the need to really explain the picture but I suppose I should have. I was sunbathing after applying a layer of bondo when my grandfather rang the doorbell and dropped off the sander-- I just took the picture on the fly for a laugh. I assure you all though, I sand and bondo in clothes (though i gotta say, it's plenty hot out there and the option to work in a bikini would be nice LOL) and own both a respirator and a dust mask that I use respectively ;] I'm safe guys

3: the tips! thank god for the tips! I love all of you

4: Cardboard king we were seperated at birth <3 <3 <3 :love I hope you know I adore you bb

5: PROGRESS.

It's going slow (I've been busy) but it should be picking up soon. Got my hands on a dremel, too

WB back! hehe.

Apparently, when you were out, everybody got their hands on some testosterone drug or something. :lol :angel

Re: Ladies can be Iron Man too (kinda pic heavy)

looks nice and smooth

that reminds me...i have to remember where i stashed my dremel like 5 years ago.......i think it's under my bed......maybe......lol.....

Re: Ladies can be Iron Man too (kinda pic heavy)

Looking good! :thumbsup

I enjoy seeing people work on major projects like this, but I hate that I'm in an apartment and have no place to be able to go all out and work on something like this. I'd make a mess of my place in no time. I need a garage! :lol Just modifying the Rubies Vader helmet on a card table and out on my 3rd floor deck was a pain in the butt to keep from covering everything with dust from the Dremel tool work and sanding on the filler.

Re: Ladies can be Iron Man too (kinda pic heavy)

All I can say it is nice to see a pretty girl prop/costume thread that actually has progress being shown! It means you mean business here with a few bikini shots thrown in to get the forum stirred up.......................NICE!

Re: Ladies can be Iron Man too (kinda pic heavy)

It looks good, and it looks like you got to keep most of the details too, when I finished helping Sharkhead bondo his first helmet, you couldn't tell where the face curved in, and it was starting to look very round.
