Done / Completed Kylo Ren Helmet From 3D model **new pic #220**

It's funny how nobody is asking me about the pieces to put into the helmet or the size etc... I have not scaled anything down...not even sure how to do that?
i have had people with 24" heads put it in and there is still room. It's smaller than the other Kylo helmets out there. But by no means is it a small helmet.

Just read the comments on how small the helmet is. But yeah, compared to other helmets out in the wild, it makes yours look small(ish). Lol! It's good to know that you were able to make the helmet fit on the large size and still keep it from looking like a funko pop. Too bad you don't do full costumes or I'd be all over that.

Thanks. But no I'm not a seamstress, so I can't make the full costume.

Let's clear this up. I have a 23.5 inch melon. I installed electronics, speaker face padding and I still need padding in the back. It's no small helmet.

I'll get a pic of it today being worn. Clear up this nonsense of it being "small". It's far from it.

Guys I'm new to prop helmets. What should I use for inside padding to wear. Mines due to arrive this week. I'll wait on the visor and voice electronics. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Some people build in a hardhatlines with hotglue/glue/fiberglass or whatever.

The easy way to to just glue in foam in the right spots to make it sit just right and lock your head in so it moves with you.

I've used motorcycle helmet liners in my Iron Man and Cobra Comander helmets. Works great. Some heavy duty double sided Velcro lets me pull it out to wash the sweat. It's very comfy, grabs your head just right and absorbs your sweat well.

what electronics and speaker are you adding...very curious to see your setup.

Yep I'm already working on an interior kit... hardhat ratchet system, visor on the eye slot and some type of fabric for the small holes..to cover them but still have hole for better ventilation :) but I'm in a small town so everything is ordered online..takes time to come in and test... :)

Wow ,that looks great! That looks way better than fabric. Maybe we can get Rocketeer to sell some visor kits?

finished mine up as well.. :) great helmet !! Looking good next to Vader :)

I always use steel wool. Sandpaper...depending on grit might be too harsh. If I was to finish a cold cast, I might paint the black first..sand off the black on the eye surround...with a fine grit 329-400 then buff it with steel wool so it shines. Just an idea...I normally paint everything :)
Just got my Cold Cast kit! Anyone got any tips on how to bring out the shine? Sandpaper? Fine? Etc. View attachment 547360View attachment 547361

Thanks man! Amazing work on this by the way. For the Steel Wool should I use a fine or coarse or somewhere in between?
