Is it okay if I ask about studio scale stands and mount points. What do you guys recommend as a general set up?

Well, thanks guys for all the positive comments.

I'll let Kurt comment on his photography setup, but we typically use Panavise 833-T camera mounts for the stands. Usually a receiving T-nut in the correct thread size is all that's needed along with a coupler/extension mounted between the stand and the model. And then the stand is mounted to some kind of base with three screws. REL offers stands with bases now, I believe... already assembled and finished. PM him for details.
