Krayt Dragon Mando helmet *Pic Intensive*

looks great..I always wondered how far the customizing could go and the combination of the 2 is great..ever try a shark or soemthing..underwater mando helmet?

A shark is a possibility, though I try to keep things within Starwars though, hence why the dragon is a Krayt, so it would have to be a Starwars shark of some kind, I'd have to check all my resources to see if there was one I could use.

The scales did seem like it would take forever, I used a pottery needle to etch into the car body filler (bondo). I've bought some engraving needles for my Dremel now after suffering the blisters I got on my fingers!!! :)

A quick update on this, here is a cold cast helmet I produced for my own Mando outfit, the dragon was using a brass mixture and I painted into the dragon part of the mold before going over the rest of it with an aluminium mixture.

It was then cut out, painted up and pimped big time :)

And finally, here's one in mid kit construction, the armour is cold cast too:

I appreciate some purists may dislike it, but I've enjoyed making it :)

Dude, this is cool. The sketch didn't have me convinced, but the proof is in the pudding. Love the lights and the brass dragon. Would love to see more of the dragon motif on the rest of the armor, but its pretty cool as is.

WOW!!!! I'm totally loving this... I've been pondering doing a custom bounty hunter/mando costume for a LONG time now... I may have to bribe the hubby into doing something like this for me. :love

If you're serious about doing a mando costume, try www.mercs.firespray.net there are some great people around to help, especially with female armour.

Thank you, as I mentioned, I understand the purist point of view, however, I work long and hard turning the Mandalorian armour into an art form and I appreciate people understand what I am doing and purists accepting my work is a very great honour! :)

I think I'd be doing the the Star Wars franchise a disservice by trying to be a larger sized Boba or Jango Fett. So it's nice that the Mandalorians, as a culture, has a certain amount of leeway.

I hope my work is representation of the quality that all custom Mandos strive to, and knowing a lot of them, they do.

I also love that, some of my work has been televised in and American parade, I am really proud of that :)

Anyhoo, here's me on my last progress, forgive the codpiece, it has been modified since :lol
