Hi,
My name is Saz, It has been suggested by a few people on other forums that I joined up here as soon as registration allowed, so here I am.
Thought I would make this thread firstly to say hi and to say a little bit about myself and what I do.
I am a UK based Fiberglass helmet maker and since this time last year I was making my own scratchbuilt Mandalorian helmet so I could make some costuming sculptures, my first idea was to add a little Japanese influence into the helmet but still make it Starwarsy.
Here were my initial sketches:
Once I was happy I took one of my fiberglass mando helmets and began to draw on it:
I then began to sculpt the creature with car body filler, tentatively at first:
Slowly building up the basic shape:
With the basic shape done, it was now a question of smoothing the body down:
With it all smooth, it was time for me to psyche myself for the hard bit:
The scales, you do not know how long this felt like taking!!! :
Ready for mold making:
And first pull:
Also, with permission I can show you how one of the people who got one of my casts decided to paint it, this was done by A'den Skirata who regularly troops with the Mandalorian Mercs, he's kindly allowed me to use his extra work to help me promote my work:
I think you'll agree he's done an amazing job with it!
Anyhoo, that's me and some of the things I do.
Thanks for reading!
